The Hour Is Upon US! FAA To Divulge New sUAS Regulations Today (Sunday 2/15/2015)!

Maybe - definitely food for thought if considering the exemption road. Should you bother? For those commercial operators who had been flying under the radar it would seem less likely now that the FAA would seriously pursue an enforcement action. However, there are estimates that the final rule...

    A2 v2.5

This is what I got back from DJI on 1/9: "Thank you for contacting DJI North America. The v2.5 firmware is an update that you should be able to see with the software assistant. Simply click the info button and midway down you should see Current version to the right of that you should have the...

You can do it for less but this is an example: https://aerialpixels.com/shop/hdmi-av-converters/dji-zenmuse-gh3-to-gh4-hdmi-av-converter-micro-hdmi-thin-cable/ GH4 powers the converter.

As you should be. I have a spare copter with a Z15-GH3 gimbal as a backup. In order to get 4K out of it, I use the setup that folks were using before the Z15-GH4 came out, which is a thin hdmi ribbon cable connected from the camera to an AV converter velcroed to the back of the gimbal. I then...

I get the white screen every time unless I boot up in 29.97p, even though it's downconverted to PAL. I then have to switch the camera to 23.98p without shutting anything down. If I need 24p, I have to then change the system frequency, reboot the camera, then come back to 24p. Every single time...

Same. If I'm in the middle of a shoot I swap the batteries one at a time so I don't have to power off the copter and gimbal, which forces me to go through the whole ritual again.

list of businesses helping with 333??

True.. the Realtor exemption looks nothing like the original 6. Not sure what it looks like actually. It seems like the FAA just wanted to get one off their plate. "One can do it themselves but for many having someone that understands the system, knows how to write in a manner that fits the...

list of businesses helping with 333??

https://www.faa.gov/uas/legislative_programs/section_333/ Dig in... all you will see is the petition itself, and the decision (go to the docket). The petitions also include the flight operations manual(s), which are typically confidential and not available to the public. That is where the meat...

list of businesses helping with 333??

I spent over 200 hours researching and writing my ops manual for my exemption petition. And that's after having been in aviation for a very long time. The FAA wants things a certain way, or at least they used to (until I read the grant to the AZ realtor). Whatever you get charged it's probably...

When they work.. the results are really something. The M5 has been great but I haven't tried to fly with it yet since it puts the weight near or over gross for the S1000. Have you looked at the Gremsy H14? I'm thinking of that on a K130...

I've worked on a ton of airplanes and it's obvious which ones were parked within 5 miles of the ocean. But hell, more than half of the footage you see is over salt water! There certainly should be ways DJI can better seal the vulnerable components. I had to buy three GH3 gimbals to get a...

They couldn't just clean up the slip rings? I'm assuming that's where the issue is if they're saying it's dirty. Or is there corrosion? That would be a deal breaker for sure. Salt air plays hell on things.

    JB Near Miss

Yeah it is. I was crossing Carmel in IMC years ago and looked down into the canopy of a T-34 with a guy wearing a blue baseball cap looking up at me. :) It just bugs be that the FAA's attitude toward drone regulation is so heavy yet they still can't keep the day to day under control.

    JB Near Miss

Not a drone? Wait, how could this be? It was a near miss with another aircraft equipped with an operating transponder and a licensed pilot at the controls? http://www.cbsnews.com/news/jetblue-flight-nearly-collides-with-small-plane-near-ny-airport/
