One more site is www.rcuniverse.com if someone can get to it. Between RCU, RC Groups, and Flying Giants a very large portion of the RC flying community will be exposed to the petition.

Up the aircraft gross weight to align with the AMA/FAA established 55lb limit already recognized and your proposal looks pretty good. Putting a link to a petition on other M/R forums is a good idea. Some will do little other that open the post but those that become engaged and sign are more...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

In essence you've reaffirmed what I said sometime ago. It's about locking out the little guy by enacting regulatory processes only the big players can afford to comply with. As previously mentioned, mega corporations love regulations because they already have the funding and staff necessary to...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

The contents of the link provide some insight of what needs to be addressed to split us off from the hobbyists. Maintaining lin of sight with our aircraft and a 100% assured aircraft action in the event of lost comm is what will get us there...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I think Bart is correct with this assessment. The hobbyists are the ones that have generated the dark cloud surrounding M/R's and currently there is no distinction between a hobby and commercial M/R, or their operators. making this more difficult is the fact that a "hobby" level M/R can also...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

It was I believe 1939 when the AOPA was first formed, and for exactly the same reasons we are experiencing today; over regulation. Without the AOPA general aviation would have died on the vine during WWII. If we are to be viewed as professionals we need to conduct ourselves as such. The...

They have absolutely overwhelming cause to see the small guy locked out through over regulation. AUVSI has become strongly supportive to whatever funding is being granted them. It's not the small player, shared technology group it started out as. They are doing good things but the focus is on...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

The FAA has spent, and is likely still spending, considerable time inside the offices of the larger sUAS companies. They were provided demonstrations and operational training by at least one firm I can name. That is one of the big money aerospace companies that sat the board during the...

Goggles dangerous, hardly but your big heli's are out to get you!

Had a discussion on the subject of flight safety with team members this morning. The subject of differences between heli's and multi's came up and it became real interesting when the CEO stated that multi's were different and not as dangerous as large RC heli's. It got real quiet when I asked...

FAA attempts to ban FPV Goggles

I've never had any kind of exchange with the FAA that didn't somehow end up costing me money. But they are there to help, right?;)

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

Thanks for posting that. I've made inferences the FAA will only consider people and equipment qualified under current FAA standards to operate commercially but the document lays out what is a hobby aircraft and that hobby aircraft are not commercial tools at this time. My view has the recent...

Goggles dangerous, hardly but your big heli's are out to get you!

A super hot 3d heli flyer killed himself in front of his Dad in New York or PA earlier this year when the heli pretty much took his head off. There was another really bad one in Texas several years ago.

I fear that you are correct in your assessment. If such is the case, the die has been cast, and it lumps us in with considerable more expensive and capable unmanned aircraft, constructed and certificated by the aerospace giants. Certificated is soon to become a very operative word.

I was not aware of that. It sounds like another rule imposed to appear like a regulation but in truth one than ends most flight operations of type. So we'll dispense with the Canadian idea.
