If you use a GoPro you need to look at this

For $328.00, I'd be more worried about damaging the case then the camera!:highly_amused:

    F450 with NAZA vs F550

My 2 cents fwiw, go with the quad, build it yourself, use money saved to buy a couple of sets of props, maybe an extra arm or two, and a spare motor. I had no prior experience with RC and I was able to build and program the f450, it's that bloody easy! You will need to have a computer running...

Is the F450 the new go to?

I think it was the price point that sucked me in with the 450. I looked long and hard at the x650v8 and also the scarab quad, the first I just couldn't make my numbers work for a first time MC, the second was smaller than I wanted to go with. So far I'm pleased but I think most of that...

    Coming soon Zenmuse gimbal

Was it the opening shot to The Sound of Music? I've seen DP's come unglued at the Libra tech because he can't keep the horizon level on a thirty foot arm strapped in the back of a stakebed when we're running down a wash board dirt road .

Running software on Mac with Parallels / F550 help

I had no copys of any windows op disc available to me so I was about to bite the bullet and buy Win home vers. and install via bootcamp. For a hundred dollars more I was able to buy a new hp laptop running W7. Another hit to my budget but now I have a dedicated laptop for MC's.

    DJI F450 Props

8045 R go clockwise, leading edge is the high edge and it goes the direction the motor spins. Weird you didn't get two matching sets.

I guess I got my cherry popped...

Ouch! I' didn't have props balanced and didn't take the time to drill a hole for the gpro tripod mount, I gave in to peer pressure to "film something". It would have been fine if the mount hadn't come unglued and bounced the camera up into the prop. No harm no fowl. FPV is def. on my to do...

I guess I got my cherry popped...

Quick vid of my first crash. Hard landing, bad stick on job with the gopro mount caused the camera to bounce. Result: 1 broken prop, back in the air in a few minutes.

Well I got it off the ground...

figures, the week I'm working it was beautiful out and the week I'm off it snows and can't find a dry place to really give her a proper test drive. Anyhow, much thanks to this board for the knowledge shared so freely.

    Vendor Ethics

GoPro just did it with the H2. A company I work with got their delivery of Hero HD's the very next day the H2 comes out, and to make the kick to the balls hurt even more, they charge the same price for the new version. Needless to say, the owner of the production company felt a little betrayed...

    What have I gotten into?

One question I do have is when hooking up the motors to the ESC's, which ones go where and which two dictate the motor rotation direction? sorry skipper, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

    What have I gotten into?

One ore thing, if you're not using a camera gimble, I don't think you need all eight of those little cables that came with the Naza.

    What have I gotten into?

WooHOOO!!!!! Mine came yesterday too! Just solder the led gizmo to one of the positive and negative solder spots, the leads plug into the Naza. Download the manual pdf's for the f450 and the other one for the naza, and watch www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NZWKdfxSpeI It's...

Multirotor noob looking for tech advice- heavy lifting

The Red Scarlet's body will weigh in at 5 lbs, add some glass, red batts, red media, and any other Red things you need to make a proper camera, you might be able to keep it under 10 lbs built (and it does 5k) but it's a Red. I don't think they've even worked out the problems with their Red One...

    XAircraft new and need advice

I too am new to all of this, I looked at the x650v8 and was planning on running it like a v4 at first and grabbing a crash kit of extra arms. But with this being my first time at this, I went with a dji naza f450 and a few extra things for crash repair. I also purchased a DX6i Tx unit and a...

    Hello from Utah...

I originally joined the site to be able to view some pictures of a quad build, but after seeing all the help those with experience are willing to give, I've been lurking steadily for the past week or two (time flies when trying to absorb this craziness). My only legitimate rc experience is with...
