Really neat! Hex's are OK, but they eat up the power. 6 motors is like 1 and 1/2 quads, power consumption wise. But you should be able to carry some nice big batteries. Interesting how the yaw will work, without having the rear motors tilt. It should sound really neat too! Good job, very creative.:)

Yes it is possible, but you'd have to get some long legs on it somehow. I run my gimbles off of the balance lead from my 3C battery. On my hex, I use a separate small 3C battery.

The AR drone doesn't come apart, but you do fly it with a smart phone, or tablet. It was my first "drone". Pretty neat for it's time. Also has sensors on the bottom, to sense altitude from ground, like the newer Phantoms have incorporated.
