    Lithium polymer or lithium ion

We have come to regard the traditional Lipo battery as the standard go-to power supply. But if you look around at how electric vehicles are developing it is lithium ion technology that rules. the advantages of lipos are that they can easily be manufactured in almost any physical shape but not...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision---25min Flight Time

I agree with ED I have a lot of systems in active use and all have had problems at some point. The fact is that when I need a go-to ultra reliable platform it invariably has a DJI controller. Before anything gets to be online we test the **** out of it. I have a recent 2.6 Tarducopter set of...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision---25min Flight Time

I see that it has a 5200 Mah battery and it weighs only 1160 grams. That checks out well with one of my small quads that has a 6000 Mah. battery and weighs 1400 grams, it can fly for 30 mins+ Out of interest I ran a set of the white motors from Kopterworx on one of my Std Phantoms that claim...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision---25min Flight Time

I will definitely get one as I could not build one for that price. Out of curiosity I checked the current draw just before motor start-up on both my regular Phantoms, the one with a Alexmos 3 axis and a fatshark 250 Vtx is .92A. and the one with a H3-2D draws 1.2 A. About .2 A. is the FC...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision---25min Flight Time

http://www.iflight-rc.com/product/FPV-Wireless-System-FPV-Set-TX-RX-%205.8G-2000mW-8CH-AV-Wireless-Transmitter.htmlThe point that bothers me slightly is the frequency. 5.8 is not that great when it comes to penetrating around objects. Time will tell if this could affect users with 2.4 gig and...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision---25min Flight Time

Must be very light. My standard Phantom with a DJI 2 axis Gopro gimbal fly's for about 9 mins But with a three axis mount and a few extras it is down to 5 mins. With 2 batteries it is back to 9 mins only. Less than 200 grams increase make a lot of difference. The Phantom Vision must have some...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision---25min Flight Time

A half decent video editor could fix the stabilisation but it need a lens hood. Into the sun it is seeing a lot of flare and prop flicker. Im guessing that the camera does not have digital stab. but if not then that level of disturbance could be fixed that way. If it has the usual lights then...

    My brushless gimbal result

I just swopped out my VR 3 axis to compare with the alexmos and I had no problems with the update via the latest GUI. Not much to choose between them but the Alexmos is a lot easier to get going with and I would say as things stand at the moment it is a little smoother with small motors. If as...

Why use 3 degree offset plates?

Scott I think the answer to the problem lies in the way in which one homes in on the ideal settings. It is very complex as the motor, prop, ESC and the pid algorithm have to reach a compromise along the way. An example is how a standard off the shelf Phantom quad with default settings works...

Hoverfly What Makes Good Aerial Video

Yeah for sure there is no problem with Protune and auto white balance. It's a bit like shooting in raw or HDR. As for the 60 deg. lens I have one coming and will give it a good test. What I think is really cool about it is the way it maintains the full 4K of the sensor and the Wide. It also has...

Naza Yaw issue (return to previous direction)

I think what you are describing is related to the magnetometer so my guess is that it is a calibration issue. Maybe you have run a magnet too close to the puck at some time.

Why use 3 degree offset plates?

There is another reason. It is used to tighten up the neutral yaw position.:tennis:

The Documentary "Civilian Drones - Search & Rescue" has been released!

Having just spent 4 hours in a Police Station after being arrested for operating in a country where permission was given to me in the first instance I know how people act when they are fearful of what the consequences are of being summoned by those in higher office. The fact is that a civil...

Hoverfly What Makes Good Aerial Video

It is possible to refocus the standard lens but if you are going to take it apart then why not put a 60 deg lens in there. I don't yet have a 60 deg lens yet as I get by ok with the various correction software that I have, but I believe it will be a good solution to have at least one camera with...

Or for PAL it's 25 and 50 fps. What I especially like about it is the vibrant colors and the sharpness, viewed on a retina display it looks a lot better than the Nex. whereas Vimeo and Youtube don't do it justice a good tip is to incorporate Sorensen Squeeze into your workflow for compression...
