POLL: What type of Prop Balancer is the best for Multirotors?

Hi Everyone! At the risk of getting into the Ford v Chevy debate I have been pulling my hair out on just what prop balancer to get!!! I have read every thread here and TONS of others on every other forum I could google up. There are Pro's and Con's to the Dubro and the TopFlite..... So what...

    Micro quad build for training

Fly, That is the KEY ingredient in making certain your TX will work with the "language" the quad understands. I already had a Spektrum DX8 so I KNEW that the NanoQX worked with my Transmitter. I am not certain if it works with JR DMSS but I DO know that it works with Spektrum TX's. Mike

    Micro quad build for training

Good question Fly, I personally went the Nano QX route for Bind and Fly and it cost me just under $70 USD. I have spares for the frames and props that I picked up as well. If I had to do it all over again for spares I would probably have picked up another BNF. Having to build a Micro for...

    Getting Started...BY beginners, FOR beginners

Excellent Post Scott!!!! I have some things to add but will hold off for a couple of days to gather my thoughts and put them down on paper. One thing that I would like to add....Training! Some people advocate building a multirotor and just simply flying it. I don't do this. My "Basic"...

    Hello from Western Massachusetts

Woo Hoo Jay!!!! Glad the situation was resolved!!! I had a similar problem on my Nano QX.....it wouldn't take off. I called Horizon Hobby and the gentleman coached me through seeing which prop was CCW vs CW. Turns out I just had the wrong prop on the wrong motor! I'll be placing orders for...

Please critique my F450 build...any gotchas before I start ordering final parts?

Doug, I am looking at HQProp's.....I have been trying to figure out the diff between the Slow fly and Thin Electric ones and how they would show up in eCalc. What I did find was with the 10x5 and the APC Electric E and 10x5 seem to be the best. I was told on another forum that the 3S-4000mAh...

Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

Really cool idea Corey! Where are you stationed in Korea? I hated the curfews there...getting harassed by the SPs when coming home from a flight and staying off base. I would kill for some spicy chicken bulgogi right now!!! Mike :)

Please critique my F450 build...any gotchas before I start ordering final parts?

@Doug....glad to hear that your stuff arrived! I have looked at Banggood's site but for the life of me I could never bring myself to purchase from them with such a name...good to hear that they are someone that is an actual company! I might get some things from them in the future as they have...

Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

Jeff, I am doing a "budget" build with my DJI F450 and am sourcing parts. I started a thread in the beginner lounge asking for some critiques on my build. You can get a partial list from there if ya like. Once I finalize the build (hopefully this weekend as we are getting some nice snow in...

Sanity checking requested for first-time build.

Hi Jeff, If you are looking for self leveling the KK2.1 can do it but you CANNOT (as far as I know and I have been surfing the KK2.1 threads on RCgroups and other net places) there isnt a way to put a GPS on it. If you are looking for GPS features, motopreserve (Scott) has a flight controller...

Please critique my F450 build...any gotchas before I start ordering final parts?

Good suggestion! That is something for tomorrow when the snow is flying! I have heard good things about Graupners and APC props. Hurri, do you have a place that you like to purchase your props from? I am going to pick up a TopFlite balancer this weekend as well. I was debating this and the...

SAR or Protecting public privacy..... which is higher priority?

Scott, OUTSTANDING VIDEO! I just watched the entire movie and it was very well done. SAR is by far the higher priority. I was involved with CSAR in the USAF for half of my career in various capacities and one thing that is very hard to come to grips with is utilization of resources. I for...

    Hello from Western Massachusetts

Still trying to figure that out Scott. Since I haven't built it and messed with my FC yet, I have to wait until I get mine setup so that I can test it all out.

Please critique my F450 build...any gotchas before I start ordering final parts?

Doug, I have yet to place the order but will be doing so in the morning! I found them on BuddyRC website and they have them in stock too! Pete, They seem to have a really good following with lots of good things to say about them (aside from a few "lemons") but no issues with them failing in...

    Hello from Western Massachusetts

Thanks Jay! Will do! It got to the mid 50's here today with nice sushine! Kind of funny as I do live in the Mts :)! We are scheduled for 6 inches of snow tomorrow and the lows at -1....but I am sure it will brighten back up in a week or so. This has been an unusually mild winter here and...
