How To Shield GPS From Video Tx???

I recently downgraded my 1000mw 1.3ghz vTX to a 400mw vTX and my GPS sat count went up to 12-13 in the air. It's also important (with my NAZA-M V2, at least) to physically separate the vTX and its antenna from the GPS puck. That's challenging on small copters, but on my big quad it was pretty...

    anaka HL build

I'd like to see how you connect the Futaba connectors to the Flight Control board. Thanks! I use the same exact motors on my X8.

Are you using the MK power distribution board with the I2C connectors? I really like your setup. Bravo!

    Movie Settings for best results

Never, ever, use interlaced in aerial stuff unless you're targeting SD broadcast TV. Which you should not be. :-) Manual exposure and focus are usually best if you can pull it off. Certainly manual focus from a multirotor...doubtful you'll ever need to be so close as to have a DOF problem. Do...

Iftron 5.8 gHz TX and RX for sale

I have moved to 1.3gHz on all my machines, and my lovely Iftron hardware is now looking for a new home. I have the Iftron Mondo Xtreme transmitter and the YellowJacket 5.8 USB receiver. I have a couple different antennas (CP, Vitenna, small yagi) that I'll throw in, too. Both units are in great...

Airsight 4: A Strong Shouldered Quad

Another update... She is now DragonLink V2 powered! I've been waiting for some time to get all the pieces together to allow me to increase this copter's range. The previous 2.4 TX/RX I had barely made it to 500-600 meters before encountering dropouts and other issues. But the DragonLink has no...

    FAA and Hollywood, progress?

http://forum.freeflysystems.com/index.php?threads/faa-press-release-on-uas-exemptions-being-filed.4402/page-2#post-52805 Here is a post on the matter. Very unsettling. I’ve written up a Rather Good Guide® to the Exemption document along with some comments as to what it would mean if the...

Airsight 4: A Strong Shouldered Quad

I'm wondering how I can capture the RSSI output of the DragonLink to see what is going on up there. I've tested Failsafe so it should behave properly. And I did the micro power range check and got the transmitter 25 feet away behind a wall before it failed. So I'm cautiously optimistic...

Metabones EF to MFT is here!

Yes, here's a little selfie test I did with my GH4 and Canon 35/1.4L. I am in love. :-)

Airsight 4: A Strong Shouldered Quad

The DragonLink is up and running! Maiden flight was a success. After my holidays I'm planning to push this copter to at least a mile, maybe more. AFAIK, at a solid 20-30mph ground speed without pushing it, even 2-3 miles should be no problem, especially with my new VAS 1.3gHz pepperbox antenna.

    Mikrokopter MikroKopter Failsafe & RTH

A couple years ago Josh Lambeth tried this. Worked fine. Probably even more robust with the latest firmware updates. I've definitely tested manual RTH and even had to use it once on a golf course when I lost orientation about 400m away. But (thankfully) I've never experienced a full auto...

Cool...let me know how that works out. Sounds like a good solution! Thank you.

Need Ideas for a Heavy Lift Flight Control System

Without casting undue negativity on the DJI A2, I would say that there are a lot of stories lately about crashes with it, and I'm not sure if that'd inspire confidence. As for me, I am a devotee of Mikrokopter electronics. Their 2.5 flight and 2.1 nav controls are really superb, and work just...
