I tried a large inverted lamp shade mounted on a large tripod and it worked really well... or mount the lamp shade on top of a field post. Landing on a plastic wash tub or bucket was possible but tricky with all the ground effect and prop wash bouncing back up.

I had similar problems with the larger Multirotor 800 mm airframe. It seemed impossible to dial out the wobble with Basic and Attitude tuning....... But then I replaced the smaller motors with larger/more powerful and the problems disappeared...... Original motors were the Turnigy Multistar 4822...

Finally got back in to trying manual mode on my custom RCT800 c/w the Turnigy Multistar 420kv motors and 15 inch props. As soon as I flipped from attitude to manual mode, the MR goes into high gear, climbing hard and fast. I would like to tame the manual mode.... just too much to handle now...

Does it fly well in little or no wind then you get a lot of wobble if there is wind?

That is a raw photo..... no cropping etc.

Hence the reason for Ecalc for MRs...... a poor substitute for intense engineering level design of these but better than trial by error which can result in a man cave full of useless parts. Also the experience of others can be helpful if it is from reliable sources.

Just learning the photo side of GoPro..... still flying without remote shutter release. The combo vid + still mode forces the resolution below optimum such that stills are only 670k..... not good enough for large 16 x 24 color printing IMHO. Will try slow burst mode next to see what can...

The situation varies according to the country you live in....... In my case I get items from Germany, Malaysia and China faster and with less shipping cost than I can get them from the USA........ It is apparently due to a free trade deal between Canada and the USA!!! Go figure.....

I pretty much resolved this issue on my own. Moved the IMU down to the proper location on the DJI anti-vibe plate that comes with the anti-vibe kit. Then more carefully adjusted the x,y,z positioning and then more carefully adjusted the Basic and Attitude tuning. Finally recalibrated the GPS mag...

The GoPro3 Black does 1920 x 1080 resolution stills I believe and only weighs about 73 grams..... hard to beat really.... Also with the new firmware, you can select a Narrow field of view for stills and videos that does not compromise the pixel count and resolution. As an example.... when set up...

I buy almost exclusively from Hong Kong and Singapore and have not been disappointed yet..... Motors, ESCs and batteries I buy from HobbyKing. Carbon fiber props and brushless gimbal systems I buy from RCTimer and from Germany. No real issues yet..... as far as I am concerned. Maybe be cautious...

Just watched the vid..... At first I thought those blue objects were two very large batteries!!!... but they are foam..... Most of your prop lift comes from the outer 3rd of the diameter and those foam blocks could contribute to inefficiencies etc. And there is a hill nearby.... You will get...

I'm still a newer kid on the block. Kloner is the main man!!...... and I did much of my learning from him.
