Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I think we need a reel. It would be great if we could edit together a short 3-5 minute reel showing inspirational AP and footage of different applications of sUAV's with a narrative explaining the benefits of commercial AP. It would also be good to consolidate some of these clips for...

Commercial sUAS petition is live at Whitehouse.gov

Posting in other forums is good but we need the administrators to post an email blast to their members in the same way Bart did otherwise there's a strong potential that they will be lost in the clutter and in which thread do you post it? Also think outside the box a bit, I have posted to...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

What I mean about not being able to agree is that we sometimes get bogged down in the details when I don't think the details are that important at the moment. We only need enough explanation to get people to join our effort, any more than that it will just start more debate. However, regarding...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I don't think we disagree about much, except for maybe what do about it. I almost feel like some sort of political hack suggesting forming a PAC, but when you look at how far we've all come in the past four years and think how great AP could be four years from now it really pisses me off to...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

Its unfortunate that we take such a dim view of the hobbyists, not that it isn't deserved but as an STC owner I can tell you pretty much what's about to happen: All MR's manufactured for commercial use will have to comply with ISO9000:2000, they will have to comply with Title 14 Code of Federal...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I'm confused or maybe you misunderstood what I was saying. I'm not saying to join the AMA, they don't have a dog in this hunt either, what I'm saying is that they have a reasonably large constituency that can probably be persuaded to join a PAC, I don't think the differentiation for membership...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I don't think that's a good idea. Yes they may have differing agendas but they both need representation in this and we need "people." I think the divide stems from hobbyists thinking that this debate doesn't really concern them and probably want nothing to do with the commercial side of this...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I have mentioned the formation of a PAC several times on several threads, so obviously I'm for it. But all of us on these forums seem to debate the same things over and over, the trick is turning the debate into action. Its a process, we need people to come together in significant numbers...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I'm so swamped I would really like to weigh in on this but I have too much to do at the moment. But I want to give some food food for thought. Although there are some great suggestions in this thread it really isn't up to individuals to tell the FAA what we think the rules should be, as...

The "Reality" of Commercial UAV Use?

You raise some great points, part of the trouble is that the AMA is more about the hobby, not the profession. The fact that the AMA was only permitted a "listen only" basis kind of supports my claim that the FAA does not take the comment period seriously. Even if everyone who flew MR's joined...

The "Reality" of Commercial UAV Use?

Any position papers from individuals is pointless. By the time the FAA starts the public comment period the rules have already been written by lobbyists and "Industry Experts," the comments will just be used to ratify the rules. If we want to make a difference we'd better create a political...

Gongrats to Aerial MOB and Mr. Kloner......well done

Yeah, I can see that happening. Worked so well with healthcare... I'm not familiar with what is or isn't working in the UK. Its funny that anyone who argues for sensible regulations, others will say your against regulations. I'm not against regulations, I'm for innovated market opportunity...

Gongrats to Aerial MOB and Mr. Kloner......well done

None of your concerns matter -- let me explain, they don't matter if the FAA is the one developing that curriculum, you can suggest things all you want but if we don't have an organization that represents all of us, whatever WE want is irrelevant. We can debate online until the cows come home...

Gongrats to Aerial MOB and Mr. Kloner......well done

Wow, that was amazing. This is how ridiculous this issue has become. What can you say after watching that?

Gongrats to Aerial MOB and Mr. Kloner......well done

I agree which is why I didn't want to get into defining the term "professional." My point was more about if you really want to make a difference in the regulatory process then you need to do more than make comments on the FAA's website. In terms of that it really doesn't make much difference...

Gongrats to Aerial MOB and Mr. Kloner......well done

Bureaucracies don't choke on paperwork, they revel in it. The individuals responsible for the day to day implementation of any policy will complain of the unintended consequences of a poorly thought out policy but they also know that their jobs are now secure for at least a couple of decades...

    XAircraft X Aircraft Firmware Updates

I don't think that debating the wish list is off topic, pointless maybe. Either XAircraft doesn't care about what users want and think, they provide no "official" channel to communicate feature request etc, or if there is a channel it is being filtered by a select few. Which is fine, its there...
