F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

Hey Guys, No my dealer didn't let me know how he performed the tests to determine that the Z Gyro was all messed up. They sent me a new Naza which I've flown successfully after a little bit of troubleshooting. Soatraightup: if your Naza rapidly ascends all by itself after 50% throttle (and...

    TBS Discovery

I'm looking for some discussion about the TBS Discovery. http://team-blacksheep.com/shop/cat:discovery I am currently flying an F-550 and before I get too much more in depth with this beast (by purchasing legs, gimbal, FPV gear, etc) I thought I'd get some feedback about the TBS Discovery. My...

All Gains are at 100% -10 ain't bad... -35 is bad I've seen Youtube videos of guys flying in colder with no problems. And yes, the Hexa was outside for about 10 minutes before I began to use it.

Flight #2 Flew again today: -8 Celsius Little wind blowing towards the North (Blowing the Hexa to the left) GPS Mode same battery No trims active Problems: 1. I noticed a drift to the left so I plan to calibrate in the IMU to remedy this. 2. I also noticed (with no input from me (left or...

Hey guys... well I actually had a flight today; something that I'm proud of. I actually felt like I was in control... Until... GPS Mode, Home Lock, 25 feet in the air. 3800 mAh, 50C, 3S1 Compass calibrated just prior to flying While in a hover.. I turned my Hexa (oscillated it) and when I did...

    NAZA-M w/ GPS price fixed?

I've seen it at that standard pricing at "Authorized DJI dealers," but I've also seen it about $20 - $30 more at other dealers who claim to be "authorized" but in fact aren't.

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

Deanout: Nope there was no flashing.. no indication otherwise of the bad gyro... When I went into the IMU calibration there was no wacky numbers. No... the garage incident was the first demonstration of the rapid uncontrolled ascent behaviour. I know I went slow on the throttle raising it up...

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

Hey Guys, I'm happy to report that my Naza was in fact defective. It had a "Bad Z Gyro." So I'm not crazy after all! Problem solved. Thanks for all of your helpful suggestions everyone. Appreciate the help!

I sent the Naza back to my dealer for exchange. Hopefully there is a problem with it and ill be able to fly soon.

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

The numbers in the IMU are within range... so much so that it doesn't give me the option to Calibrate. Well I flashed my 9XR tonight to the latest er9x and that didn't solve the problem. I'm getting a tad bit frustrated here.

    Newbie with a Naza-M

That suggests to me that you may have your mode incorrect on your controller. For instance: your throttle stick is set as your rudder? And your rudder (sitting at basically 50% upon startup) throttles the motor up upon receiving power.

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

My Flight modes are programmed correctly in the Assistant. The LED has confirmed each of the flight modes when I operate it. Yes, when I finished calibrating I finished with the arrow in the middle (green). Okay... Let's review: Manual mode: Everything works as it should This indicates that...

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

Ugh... I'm not convinced that it's fixed. What I have noticed is that once my throttle hits 55% or so.. it sounds like the motors goto their absolute max at that point. If I increase the throttle stick up (between 60% to 100%) there is no difference in the sound. So it basically hits 55% then...

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

Well guys.. it had to be a problem with my mixes. I deleted all of my mixes and re-checked my wiring. I made all of my mixes from scratch (just empty channels to start with, no defaults). I re-programmed it, bench tested it and everything seems to be in order. Although, I only bench tested...

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

Guys, I see what your saying about the RC not being configured correctly. I agree... there has to be something not right in my control. I'm going to post on the remote's forums and see if someone can help me troubleshoot. In the meantime... I don't think this is normal behavior. If my Hexa...

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

I checked it in all modes. In GPS & Attitude Mode it does the run away thing. In manual mode it is smooth as butter - weird. I don't think a little bit of tape is going to make a lick of difference when flying indoors. Exp on the remote means: "Trim Inc: Trim Increments" which is set to...

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

I'm confident that every function works like it should. The throttle is smooth in the Naza Assistant and there is no obvious reason why this sudden jump in throttle is occurring. This has nothing to do with me being a rookie flyer - there is something fundamentally wrong here with either the...

F-550 Naza + GPS Rapid Uncontrolled Ascent

I just did some bench testing of this issue by weighing down my Hexa and slowly raising the throttle. Once the throttle reaches 55% the Motors increase in throttle speed by ten fold. They go from a low hum to a rapid Wooosh. For reference, I've attached a Youtube demonstrating this: Any...
