What C rating batteries do you run?

Around 10 minutes when carrying my camera (Nikon V1). Could probably squeeze a couple more minutes out of the 4000s---they're new. Voltage is a bit over 11V after 10 min. FWIW...props are APC 12x6E. Jack

What C rating batteries do you run?

I'm running 25C-rated 3S 3300s & 4000s (two in parallel) on my hexa with Avroto motors. They get a little warm, but nowhere near hot. Jack

TBS Discovery, FPV Quadro from Team Blacksheep based on DJI Parts

Any idea what is done differently on this frame's boards to inhibit vibration to a GoPro. The mounting looks basically the same as an F450. Yeah, I know the arms are set back to get them out of the field of view, but what about the mounting of the camera itself? Or other measures to reduce...

Hoverfly Switching from MK to HF - is it worth it?

Phottonix, Thank you for your replay. Not sure what robotic-like movements to which you refer; but to my eye, my Naza does not exhibit these. The Naza does, in fact, provide tilt & roll outputs for a gimbal---I use them. I'd be interested to know, however, if the HF gimbal controls are...

Hoverfly Switching from MK to HF - is it worth it?

Just out of curiosity...what would a HoverflyPRO give me that I can't get from my DJI Naza? Previous comments in this thread imply "tweaking" is necessary with non-HF FCs, but I haven't experienced that with my Naza. I did need to adjust the gains a bit when I transferred it from my F450 to my...

A little competition for you all...

Gunter, I've done AP for a few real estate agents and found that an oblique shot from a slightly elevated position (maybe 10 - 15 meters) shows off a house the best. Similarly, to capture the whole property you need to get high enough that the whole lot is in the frame. Again, I think an...

    Nikon V1 as an Option

Yes, it's similar to the J1, but with an included EVF. BTW, the limited stabilization (called Vibration Reduction) can be switched off. Jack

    Nikon V1 as an Option

Attached is an aerial photo and a video taken with a Nikon V1. The photo is a 3-panel panorama; the video taken at 720x60p then slowed down 50%. The photo was processed in Photoshop CS5; the video in iMovie. The video was edited for content, but no stabilization was applied. These are...

cameras with live preview out function

Bart, Of the two cameras I referenced, only the Nikon V1 shoots video; the Olympus E620 does not. When shooting video, the V1 does continue to display liveview. When shooting stills, the liveview screen goes blank during shutter actuation, then returns on both cameras. Jack

cameras with live preview out function

I have verified that both the Olympus E620 & Nikon V1 have liveview-out functionality (i.e., camera connected to TV via composite video cable, placed in liveview, and image thru lens displayed on TV). I also connected both cameras to a laptop (Win XP) via "EasyCAP" with similar rusults. My...

Abuse mark afropower board or similar in US

Any particular reason you need a US dealer? I recently purchased an AFROPOWER_V1 board for my hexa build from Abusemark (http://www.abusemark.com/store/). It arrived in less than a week, and they sent two boards (I only ordered one) to help mitigate the shipping costs for such a small...

    Keeping the competition at bay.

I guess I'm missing the point of this discussion. Who's the "competition"? Why the need for secrecy? If you don't want to tell someone info about your craft or anything else you're doing, politely decline. There's no need to create a "secret society" of multi users. And how is asking a...

Can you please point me to that statement? All I find is, "We recommend the use of external switching type BEC of 5A or higher for all AP work..." Not sure what that means. Thanks. Jack
