    So it begins....

Privacy or national security, these UAV's we fly are rapidly becoming popular and in some cases flown foolishly and sometimes by people who are asking for trouble and should know better. Take for example Team Blacksheep, (See YouTube) flying and filming in London around the Houses of...

DJI Naza F450 does a roll in fail safe

I agree with RR here, the bullets are very much hit and miss and if they spin round like some of mine have in the past, take them off and solder the wires direct to the ESC is my advice. The sunlight on the NAZA thing? Not sure about that because has DJI said anything to confirm this is a real...

    DJI "NEW" 10" Props

This was one of my big gripes with DJI, their 10" and 8" props were poorly designed and would sometimes shear off due to centrifugal force. Brett, you noticed as I did that the revised quality props have emerged unannounced. I never heard of a word from DJI about the huge number of failures...

TBS Disco - how to cure drift

Paper under legs has no effect at all for me. How stable should the readings from the Gyroscope x,y & z be? Mine are all jumping around randomly between -.2 to +.4

TBS Disco - how to cure drift

Cheers Kloner. When I checked in Tools it said I didn't need to calibrate the IMU but I'll do it again. I read your other posts that deal with that and putting paper under the legs.

TBS Disco - how to cure drift

My TBS disco, NAZA and GPs holds rock steady in GPS mode but drifts slowly backwards and to the right in atti mode. Also, when it is rock steady in GPS mode, when I rotate rudder left or right slowly the TBS loses position and. I suspect this is due to the drift. Everything else is fine and...

Gains and settings wanted for a TBS Discovery with 900kv TBS motors and ESC's

Good flight, can't fault that, and at night too, very impressed. Glad it's stable for you now.

Naza M Spektrum DX8 callibration problems - going crazy!

So you're saying it has set up and calibrated successfully previously but when re-connected to the PC it went bananas. I would be inclined to re-install/upgrade the NAZA's firmware. Dave

    LED on NAZA itself?

Thanks for that DesJ, can't think why I didn't see the LED before but it's good to know it's normal. As you saw, I upgraded the firmware too and I've read about a few problems with V2.02 so I'm being especially vigilant. Have you seen the S800 flip of death youtube vids, that's scary? As for...

    LED on NAZA itself?

I'm a keen advocate of RTFM but I noticed there is an led lit on the NAZA itself that obviously glows red because it's inside the red plastic case of the NAZA and I can't see a reference to this in the NAZA manual. I have just bought my second NAZA and set it up on a TBS Disco, set up perfectly...

DJI F450 Naza Build - Complete!

Harry, Page 8 of the manual shows the correct orientation of the NAZA which is as I told you i.e with the output ports M1, M2, M3 etc towards the front of the quad and also it should be in the centre of the quad between the plates for protection.

DJI F450 Naza Build - Complete!

Harry Looks like I'm being picky here but I'm not, but the V-SEN module is upside down. The white square is the led that flashes to tell you what the NAZA is up to and therefore needs to be visible from the ground. Assuming you are going to fly it above head height that is :-) Dave

DJI F450 Naza Build - Complete!

Hi Harry Ron's right, the NAZA needs to be rotated 90 degrees anticlockwise looking from above. Check it in the manual. Other than that, tidy build, but also watch the prop rotation is correct. Dave

    Team Blacksheep Discovery build

I'm really sold on the TBS Disco all except the positioning of the Go Pro. I don't fancy using a £300 Go Pro as a bumper bar - I know you're not supposed to dive it into the ground but these things happen. Has anyone fixed a Go Pro inc clear housing onto the Disco and if so, what did it do to...

    Team Blacksheep Discovery build

Ha ha ha, I've lurked here long enough to suss out that you've been there and got the T shirt Kloner, thanks for great reply. I was going to ask you about this, the NAZA has it's own PSU (I think - the bit with the USB port on) as you know and I use Immersion 5.8ghz 600Mw xmitter which has a...

    Team Blacksheep Discovery build

Can I ask a question about TBS over DJI 450 performance. I've FPV'd a stock DJI 450 (but with Graupner 10" props) and NAZA for a few months and it flies great and I'm keen to build and try something else. My question is, is the TBS Disco better at flying than the DJI 450?

    FPV System

If you can afford to lose/waste $70 to see if it works, then get it. It looks too good to be true at that price. When we fly FPV we place a lot of trust in the kit that is up there, especially our "eyes" and if they stop working because they were cheap, the resultant damage on the ground could...

    DJI prop failure - F550

That's what I meant Val, it's so easy for DJI to fix, so how bad must they be if they can't address such an easily fixed problem. And before anyone says, in a whiny, self satisfied voice, "I've not had any problems at all with my stock DJI props...", well let me tell you, I have (4 times) and...
