New Align 800 cameraship - Needs some work!

Which gimbal is it you're using on the big heli of your website? It doesn't look fully custom, but I've never seen it before.

New Align 800 cameraship - Needs some work!

I didn't pay enough attention to that, another good point. What is the point of that case? There doesn't appear to be anything in it. They have to bolt the monitor on top of the deck. And the receiver just sitting there? I wonder if they have another Peli case to transport the monitor. So...

New Align 800 cameraship - Needs some work!

Good eye. Yeah, those shocks don't look like they have much travel left either. I'm trying to see if they've got a chain holding the tail down... :highly_amused:

Looking for cinestar like press nuts, anyone a link ?

Yeah, and their order handling and shipping is amazing. I am playing a game "How late can I order, and still have it arrive by 10AM the next morning?" I've ordered at 5:30, and still had it the next day. It's incredible. I don't know how they do it. And I should add, that's *international*...

WTF, why is the forum shrinking the image! I guess the computer gods don't want you to have these.

Looking for cinestar like press nuts, anyone a link ?

Wow, that is very strange. I've never gotten that. In fact, I find McMaster to be the most amazing website and supplier ever. You must have had some weird IT thing happen.

Looking for cinestar like press nuts, anyone a link ?

Are you talking about threaded inserts which go into flat plate, and you sort of squish them and they clamp into the material? If so, the term you're looking for is rivet nuts. McMaster has them. http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-rivet-nuts/=l2sl1z I've gotten some from there. You don't...

New Align 800 cameraship - Needs some work!

Yeah, looks like more Align crap. They should just stick to running the CNC machines which they are good at, and leave the electronics to people who know how to do that. ;) The problem with that is the vibration noise can be much more than 250 so you go into gimbal lock basically. Maybe if...

    Receiver Battery pack size?

Yeah... that's a possibility. I'm not sure if a stalled servo would drop the pack voltage enough? The other factor I think is, if a swashplate servo stalls out, the heli is basically guaranteed to crash anyway. So it doesn't really matter anymore. The tail servo, you might survive.

    Receiver Battery pack size?

There's one VERY good reason to use a separate battery for the Rx: Power up your flight controller, program it, make sure everything is ready to go and carry it out to the launch zone knowing that there is NO WAY the motors can start unexpectedly until you plug in the main batteries. Even if...

    Charge more than one LIPO

Similar, I'm using this one: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18812__Turnigy_4x6S_400W_Lithium_Polymer_Battery_Charger.html It has changed my life. :) I can charge 4 3S 2200 Nanotech batteries from storage to full charge in 15 minutes and go fly. Rather than 2 hours for 4 packs at 1C...

Quanum 2.4Ghz Telemetry System parallel system...

I agree. People have argued that pack voltage will not tell you if you have an individual cell failing which will take down the entire pack quickly. And it's true. If you're on 4S, and one cell dumps really early, you're going to be in big trouble. The voltage drops hard and even if you have...

Licenses to shoot commercial AP and AV in the US?

I was referring to people in the USA. Doing AP in Canada is basically a non-issue. We have a process to follow, and it is legal.

Licenses to shoot commercial AP and AV in the US?

All that being said, there are are lots of people doing this "professionally", and even insurance companies selling insurance for it. Many people are taking the view that, while the FAA does not allow it, as long as it isn't *criminial*, then it is "legal".

    buy naza or apm 2.5

I agree that if you're totally new to this, and have never flown anything, or don't know anything about controls, the Naza is probably better to start out with. The only exception to that is maybe if you were to buy a RTF APM quadcopter where it's already tuned, or you use all the standard...
