Did I Damage all my batteries?

In the case of all batteries the voltage when connected to the load is always a bit lower than when not connected to a load since the external circuitry always influences the power source. The one exception is a highly regulated DC lab quality power supply that automatically senses and adjust...

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

Some of the older ESCs need to have the throttle range setting configured in to the ESC such as the Turnigy Plush as shown here: But I have never considered adding this step since I have never had any issues previously with the throttle range using DJI FCs and Turnigy Multistar ESCs. Also it...

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

Yes.... And I am sure that it is not an A2 firmware issue but a configuration issue. As it is back in my shop for BGC adjustments (raining again) I will tie it down and test/adjust DJI Assistant motor idle speed away from "recommended" to see what happens.

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

Approx 80% throttle... All my previous experiences with a custom 800mm Hex with 420 KV motors and same props + WKM was so much more responsive at takeoff.

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

BTW - If an MR seems to need a lot of throttle on liftoff, e.g., to gain altitude then settles down to a nice hover at 50% should one adjust the Attitude vertical gain or the recommended motor idle speed? I used eCalc to size components for the AUW and there were no issues..... and this...

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

This is the Cinestar 8 long arms flying with A2 version 2.3 FW..... So far I am very impressed with the flight control, stability and how solid it maintains a specific altitude..... It is even better than my previous WKM on FW 5.20 which I found to be quite reliable in well over 150 flights...

    Props

eCalc will put you in the right ballpark for the most part. You can also look at it from the perspective of disc loading which is a concept similar to wing loading for fixed wings. If the disc or wing loading is too light you MR will bounce around in the wind or develop a wobble that cannot be...

    Help with motor/prop/esc combo

FYI - This was my RCT800 which has 800 mm motor arms versus the DJI550 which had only 550 mm motor arms. That enabled use of larger props, i.e., 15" 5.5 pitch, with higher torque motors. I used RCTimer 15 x 5.5 carbon fiber props, HobbyKing 35 amp Opt Turnigy Multistar ESCs and 420 kv Multistar...

Help required seting up new A2

Endpoints 4 Radio Loss Fail Safe Yes..... It a common RC Transmitter configuration issue beyond the control of DJI A2 Assistant, i.e., RC Xmitter Endpoints must be correctly configured for radio off fail safe to work properly. I am using the Futaba T8FG Super. I wonder how many out there...

    Martinez Gimbal Controller

Latest FW version is now 50 - 217. Whether you use this or the previous fw releases, when you unzip the files on to your hard drive, you should see a subdirectory that contains three PCB schematic photos c/w instructions for soldering in these two resistors. It is a simple voltage divider...

    Help with motor/prop/esc combo

I went down a similar path when upgrading my old F550 and spent a lot of time and money to get what was needed to regain good airtime and flight control. Basically the issue is about a full on fight with the law of gravity which is almost an exponential curve. Likewise the cost increase to...

    iCharger 306B malfunctioning

jfro, I have owned and used several "surplus" server power supplies but have since moved on the the S1200 by Chargery. And the reason I stepped away from the Dell PowerEdge and similar HP server Power Supplies is that 2 of the 5 I used blew their fuses......I tried to fix one but apparently...

    iCharger 306B malfunctioning

Sorry to hear about the icharger..... I hope it has a good long term warranty and/or can be easily fixed locally. If it has a usb port, you might try a firmware reflash or reload if nothing else works. I own the S1200 Chargery unit which provides lots of amps and allows a wide range of input AC...

    Weight vs Lift

Kilby, Also if you have the time, run your design thru eCalc for Multirotors. It provides valuable insights as to the effect of undersized or oversized props etc. Also the ratio of your total AUW to your maximum thrust is, I believe, your disc loading. Disc loading is a similar concept to...

    Smoke NOT GOOD

Sorry to hear you are having issues. IMHO - Both the MR frame documentation and the NAZA documentation needs to be read and fully understood before connecting the power and even more is needed if working with a custom or DIY kit such as specifics with respect to the ESCs. Some FCs have no...

    Dealing With the Public

The police rarely make time for nuisance calls by neighborhood watch dogs! In any case this is another reason for having an assistant/spotter also prepared to intervene indicating you are on a very busy and tight schedule. Have the spotter ask the individual to stand clear for reasons of...

    Flying near magnetic mountains

If I understand the FC correctly, FC Attitude mode utilizes only the FC IMU sensors and barometer and ignores the digital compass and GPS signals. IMU sensors are: 3 magnetometers, 3 accelerometers and 3 gyros......... magnetic anomalies from mountains will have very small affect on the...
