    DJI S800 yaws in flight

In the case of my Basecam BGC, the camera yaw axis was drifting until I was able to re-calibrate the IMU gyroscope...... then the issue disappeared. I assume that the FC IMU gyros are in need of recalibration.

    DJI S800 yaws in flight

Speculating here.... External possibilities: cross wind (FC yaw control and/or motors can't remain ahead of the yaw heading) possibly due to cross-winds etc. Payload profile is not a symmetrical drag to the oncoming wind. Internal: 1) Issue with one motor and/or prop or 3 deg motors spacers...

Flew my drone through a firework display

6.5 Million viewers to date and climbing rapidly! If all the regulatory requirements were met, I would assume this was all people/property safe relative to the the restricted ballistic zone directly below the fireworks where no people or vehicles were allowed. Once again this puts MRs as...

So my F550 fell form the sky

If the soldering was done well it should have been more reliable unless you are carrying a very heavy payload such that current draw became excessive. Was the original soldering joint nicely rounded and glossy (good) or gray and rough (not good)?

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

The American Society of Civil Engineers demonstrates a great deal of interest and involvement in the use of small UAVs as indicated here: http://www.asce.org/searchResults.aspx Meanwhile the Civil Engineering departments at many individual Engineering firms are already implementing sUAVs...

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

ChrisViperM, your posting reminded me of this incident that I first heard on the local news back in 1983. During the filming of a segment of the 1983 movie The Twilight Zone, producted by Steven Spielberg, actor Vic Morrow and child actors Myca Dinh Le (age 7) and Renee Shin-Yi Chen (age 6)...

A2 EMI Flyaway Cell Tower Proximity

I am an EE but specific to industrial power with limited SCADA, Telecom, Wireless experience except that I am also a HAM radio operator - VE6GLT which is also most relevant to this question. I would think if you are flying at least 100 away from a cell phone tower you should not have issues...

    Wobbly S1000

GPS module orientation See box at bottom of page 12 stating "The GPS arrow must point directly towards the MR nose."! Also my MR with A2 FC flies straight by following DJI instruction above. I no longer have to rotate the GPS module to account for Mag versus true north.:tennis:

Considering MRF blastmail system to address FAA regulatory process but need your help

I had a chance to talk to the Chief Operating Officer of ING Robotics (previously ING Engineering) while he was at the Global Petroleum Show in Calgary. Asked about his target market, he indicated that it had shifted away from Military and Navy towards commercial, hence their display booth at...

    Wobbly S1000

The DJI A2 GPS does not need to be adjusted for the angle of declination (mag versus tru north) as does the previous DJI FC systems. It automatically adjusts for that by flying it back and forth several times in Attitude mode.

A2- Can't set Gimbal Pitch Gains to 0

True, same happened to me so I settled for 10 gain..... but only use pitch control for FC gimbal to control external BGC pitch control....

Does anyone use the A2 system to control a multirotor and gimbal with one radio?

A2 gimbal control can be used to control BGC camera pitch control w/o using the FC gimbal control..... I defaulted to that configuration because I couldn't seem to do it any other way with the A2.....

Does anyone use the A2 system to control a multirotor and gimbal with one radio?

Simple pitch control is easy to do thru single RC xmitter for aerial video. If you want to remotely control panning........ best to add a 2nd xmitter...... too distracting to fly safely otherwise - IMHO. Panning by rotating the MR is rarely a good choice.

Can DJI USA take the lead on this issue?

While FAA does not have legal jurisdiction beyond USA borders, FAA regulations remain a cornerstone for pending regulations in other countries that tend to wait then follow suit with similar regulations. DJI and others need to realize the potential adverse impact on their business in all 1st...

FAA attempts to ban FPV Goggles

FAA and other agencies took notice of Model rocketry back in the mid sixties.... but Vernon Estes - President of Estes Model Rocketry established it as a safe alternative to the hundreds of individuals already trying to build their own rocket motors in their basements with loss of eyes, limbs...

The "Reality" of Commercial UAV Use?

We recognize.... When properly used, both the FPV goggles and FPV screen monitor add a degree of safety with respect to MR battery voltage level etc. The FPV goggles further enhance safety by means of eliminating excessive sunlight washout on an FPV screen monitor. The downside is being...

    Wobbly S1000

Also note that the A2 manual recommends applying hot glue gun glue to the canbus connectors..... I found them to be too much on the loose side..... and an intermittent GPS signal or IMU signal to the FC spells trouble.

    Is this Lipo repairable?
