I believe the sound you hear from propellers when descending are not the motors that start, it's autorotation that kicks in when the speed get high enough. I have experienced this myself when shutting off motors by mistake. The sound is different when propellers going backwards, and they will...
The safety feature for motor failure on hexa came With Version 5.14. So no problem running 5.16 if you prefer that over 5.20. Release notes for all Versions: http://download.dji-innovations.com/downloads/wkm/en/Wookong_M_product_release_notes_en.pdf
If there is noe light, either it's not getting correct power or the rx is dead. Are you sure you have not reversed the powerleads? Not sure what type of rx you have, but the D8R is good for 3.5 to 10V, so 7.4V should not have burned it.
I actually experienced somthing like this. I have changed ESC's and wanted to stress test them with max load to be sure they don't get too hot. So I added 1kg+ more than I usually carry, total around 6kg. After a while I had to increase throttle to 75% just to keep altitude. I thought it was due...
Thanks. I have flown around 15 battery packs now, everything feels ok.
If I should make a comment, it would be that the altitude hold seems to be more dependant on the throttle stick being placed at the exactly right place. But I upgraded from 5.02, so this may have been changed a long time...

I'm still on v.5.02 because I hear people having problems with newer versions. Is this GPS problem the cause of all the problems people has experienced with wkm? So if I got the old gps it would be safe to upgrade to the last version?
Never had any problems with my wkm running 5.02. Have used...
