I set the NAZA on return home and land but when i shut off the RX it simply landed.
Should it be set on GPS or Fail Safe for this to function?

Thanks,

Ed,

Did you set up preset failsafe in your receiver? If not, it won't work. TH above 10%, Failsafe activated and bound. Check your RC manual for specifics to your gear.

I did the pre-set failsafe with throttle at zero and it still enters RTH failsafe.
I'd just check the assistant and make sure you have RTH selected vs. land & watch as you turn the Tx off to ensure it enters failsafe

Thanks Guys, well I have set up the dx6i to failsafe landing now at about 42%

I do have it on RTH (Return to home)

But I guess the main question was do I have it on the right setting? (GPS vs Failsafe)

i,e,Does it need to be on GPS or Failsafe to work?

When I tried it I had it on GPS, does that mean GPS only and RTH wont work and it will just land?

Read the manual. It states that the throttle needs to be above 10%. If you loose the signal, do you want to have the throttle to go to Zero and have the motors disarm? I hope you don't have an emergency and really have to use it.

What receiver are you using? If it is not an AR 7XXX and above with a data port it doesn't support preset failsafe.

Gencode, I was not responding to you,but to DesJardins. I know what your transmitter is, what model of receiver are you using?

I attempted to give the slightest over 10% throttle and the throttle alarm activates when the DX8 is turned on so it wouldn't "allow" me to bind... I set the pre-set failsafe to RTH and when the DX8 was turned off in flight the quad motors didn't turn off as you are mentioning. The LED rapidly bliked yellow and the quad went into RTH failsafe so I don't know what else is supposed to be done...

LOL, sorry and just so you know im actually HAPPY with my unit so want to be sure everyone knows all coments are actually in a good mood :)

This is my last feature I need working because tomorrow my FPV comes in and "just in case" I get lost I would like some backup to get my grand machine back.

The rx is AR6115e
the one that came with it.

I want to also add that whne I put my Tx to failsafe the naza blinks fast yellos(Tx not found) put it back to GPS and its fine (gps working fine holds position fine)

thanks for the help

That is why you move the end point of the throttle from -100% to -10% and it will allow you to set the preset Failsafe. You were lucky because your were flying before you may have picked up the last throttle position. Most times, that does not happen.

I am glad you are happy with yours. I have two and am also happy with mine. I am always in a good mood. Unfortunately the AR 6115e does not support preset failsafe. In order to get that feature you will have to upgrade your receiver. You can check the Horizon web site for more references.

Also check what is happening in Assistant when you shut the Tx off. I think that you will understand the difference. When I turn mine off, the throttle goes to 50% and the slider goes to Failsafe.

I really don't know then because when I did the "pre-set" failsafe binding proceeded then tested while watching the assistant no matter what throttle position zero or around mid-stick the indicator alwasys entered failsafe when the transmitter was turned off.

I will re-do and test using the end point adjustment though to make sure.
Pulled the Rx and Tx manual to make sure I'm redoing this correctly.

Thanks for the info!

When I enter the servo menu it's 100% & 100% for throttle.
So I make only the left value 10%? Or 90% which indicates minimum stick input is 10%?

There isn't a negative value

You are on the right track. Yes the slider will move to failsafe, but what does the throttle do. If it stays at Zero, the motors will stop. If it is above 10% they will continue to stabilize the craft and start the RTH program. These are great FC's that do amazing things for little money. Have fun flying them.

Move your minimum value from 100% to 10%. That will work. I think of Zero throttle as -100% and full throttle as 100%. Sorry for the confusion.

Okay, so its the Rx that wont support it but the Tx will
Well I also have an AR6210

This person seems to have setup failsafe with the AR6210

It takes an AR 7XXX and above that has a Data Port to support Preset Failsafe. The lower models will not. I picked up 2 of the AR7010 with satellite for $89 each which I think is a bargain.
