Zenmuse H3-2D AV-OUT Issues?

Hey all,

I am having some issues with one of my copters and wanted to share.

I have a phantom with a Zenmuse on it with 5.8Ghz VTx/Rx.

The video transmission is clear, without static, but it has falling offwhite lines through the screen.

Here's my troubleshooting so far:

1. New, nicer antennae for both VTx/Rx. Same problem

2. Tried 3 different Txs. All produced same video problem. I used all three Tx on other copters (without zenmuse) and they connected to receive video and produced crystal clear images.

3. I also changed the power source of the transmitter. It is wired to the phantom, but I built a cable to test it when it was powered by a separate 3S power source (maybe interference from ESCs if soldered to board?). I still had the same problems.

4. The only thing I have not been able to troubleshoot is the AV out on my Zenmuse. All of the FPV equipment seems to be properly working. In addition, the AV cable I built (provided in H3-2D box) to connect Tx to GCU is properly soldered.

Any thoughts? What am I missing here? Any advice greatly appreciated

NEXT STEPS:

I am going to test the connection when I get the video through the USB (USB to VTx) as opposed to the back pins. Will report on this...

Hello, it seems I have exactly the same problem on my DJI F550 with the Zenmuse H3-2D, when I power on the F550 I can see a Crystal clear picture for one second then when the Gimbal start adjust I get these horizontal moving lines across the monitor as long as it is turned on... I arrived to the same conclusion than you: it is coming from the Zenmuse Gimbal... but I did not find a solution yet :( If you got a solution let me know (I will too !)

Hi,
Same problem here... I have tested similar steps as you with no success.

Maybe try to swap PMU? Or GCU?

Edit: I have tested another gimbal, another GCU and another PMU. Nothing changed. I have no idea where this interferenc come from... :-( As cedhart says - befer the gimbal (or Naza?) initialize, pictures is clear.

Hi Stepino, it is interesting that you said it appears even when you change the Gimbal ! what vtx/Rx do you have ?

Same problem

I have the same issue perturbation(F550+Senmuse H3-2D),
I have used the AV signal directly from the GCU, with only the zenmuse power, the perturbation is still present (then it is not TX or something else)
I'm with the hero3 black +
Any further advise or do somebody fix it already ?

I have not solved this issue yet... Tested "almost" everything.

If I power the NAZA/PMU first, than GCU/Zenmuse I have clear image for couple of seconds befor the gimbal initialise. Right after the motors starts working, lines are there.
Tested three different cameras (Black/Silver) no change.
I can replicate this issue only with Zenmuse and GCU with LCD connected directly. Nothig else connected.

Sent the gimbal to local distributor, but thay said that everything is OK :-(

I had that issue and now take the camera output direct to the Tx. you need to rebalance with a very small piece of adhesive lead.
