Zemuse & NEX7 lenses

Possibly a stupid question.... but

What actually happens if you strap a different lens to your Nex5/7 when on the Zemuse?

Does it just not work 'as well'. Is it 'all over the place', or does it just say 'computer says no'?

Not being able to (for example) jump from a wide angle lens to a standard lens is making me wonder if this is the way to go.

Thanks

I have not tried it myself yet, but I got this reply when I asked DJI on their facebook page:

"Daniel, that is one of the first NEX 5 gimbals with a 24mm sonnar lens. You just have to balance it manually. Also, the gimbal doesn't perform quite as well as it does with the 16. "

See the hole "thread": https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...36391159.42714.204042796391733&type=1&theater

I am going to test with my zeiss 24mm soon. I will post someting then:)

Doug, up to a certain extend you can use different lenses.....check out this thread:

But you must be aware that any manual balancing like in the vid must be 1000 % spot on. I spent a couple of hours until I got the feeling for it. Just follow the procedure in the vid, and make sure when it comes to the last section (where he tilts the heli to the side to balance the axis which is at the mounting point Z15/S800 (pan) to have EVERY axis spot on.
First I balanced tilt and roll perfectly and didn't take to much care about the pan axis....and had always a skew horizont....only after balancing the pan axis it was perfect.
