Hi Jesse, I would love to know your thoughts as I have not made my purchase yet. I changed my mind during that special which I am not sure was the right move or not and decided to wait on the release of the Iris. I may go the other way once I hear what you think. I would have picked the same model if I had picked between the X8 and Y6 Good luck on your new purchase and please let me know how you like it. May I ask what you are using now? and why you decided on the 3Drobotics
Thanks, will let you know how it performs. The Iris doesn't lift enough weight for me, I'd need about 1kg. The Pixhawk board on it looks good though, I may upgrade the X8 to using that once the reviews are out.
Not using anything myself at the moment but a couple of friends are building their own so I've caught the bug. I decided on 3D Robotics because I happened to see their sale and was in CA at the time, so I thought it'd be easy to pick it up. Plus they have a pretty good rep and the venture capital they collected recently will hopefully ensure they keep developing the products and the software for a long time to come. Aside from that I would have probably gone for DJI
