xt60 connector question

Can anyone tell me if it is ok to use XT60 conectors on 4s 4000 ma battery, or 4s 5000ma. I noticed that the batteries less than 3000 ma use XT60 but if you get anything higher than 3000 ma they use the big red connectors from hobby king.

I use them on the 4s 4000, but need to trim the wire tips a little after tinning them. I really like XT60s, but I'm considering switching to EC5 for 4S and 5S, just because it will be easier to solder.

whether it's ok to use XT60's is more to do with your total current draw rather than size or capcaity of lipo. I believe the XT60's are good up to 60A.

I run XT60 connectors on my 6S batteries without any problems.

I have not had a problem with the XT60's on 6S, I run to 6S 5500 on the S800. there is a little spark on connecting but thats it

You guys using XT60 connectors on 6S packs have far better soldering skills than I. All of my 6S packs have 8AWG wire and I use 8mm bullets to be safe. And like cbuk says, they are rated at 60A. EC5 connectors are rated at 120A.
