XAircraft XAircraft Xcope and Futaba T10JH/R3008SB?

Greetings to everyone,

I'm about to get way in over my head with a 450 size quad after flying nano-quads around my living room. I flew a 30 size TSK years ago and am astounded at the technology available today for a fraction of the cost.

I'm a week old into quads and am pretty much in love with my little Hubsan X4. I feel a new addiction coming on...

I have my heart pretty much set on an XCope at this point. I'd love a TrueAce Matrix but just can't justify that kind of expense, the OFM Seeker is a hot machine but not what I'm after exactly right now. The XCope looks like really good value and perfect for fun FPV flying. The SuperX hardware, S-Bus connectivity, GPS flight modes and the ranges these things are capable of even using FPV are quite something, not that I'd want to fly further than 1km personally.

Anyway, I have a couple of questions please.

I am wondering if a Futaba T10JH/R3008SB is a good Tx/Rx combo to mate with this machine and is easily programmed to use SuperX to it's fullest? Multi-rotor model type programming seems fairly rare but I'm more concerned with sticking flight modes, Failsafe etc. into it? Is multi-rotor model type even a good thing, pros, cons?

I see many reviews/setup tutorials for the Futaba 8-channel radios but not for the T10J, are there reasons for this? I may want to own more quads and want to buy a radio I can have for perhaps the next decade or two, the stars willing.

One thing I'm still curious about is how to switch between a GoPro Hero3 and a CMOS camera using an XAircraft OSD but haven't downloaded any manuals yet? Does one really need an auxilliary CMOS camera and without it, does the OSD just overlay it's info onto the GoPro feed? Do you recommend an aux camera?

If the experts give me a thumbs-up on this radio/receiver combo for the XCope/XAircraft SuperX or not and maybe try to answer a question or two I'd really appreciate it.

You all seem to have a fantastic forum here so I'm off to do some reading. Thanks very much for everything and hopefully some can comment!

Wish me luck 'cuz I think I'm goin' in.

Best regards

P.S. Why can't I download the SuperX 1.9 Manual from XAircraft's site? It doesn't want to give me more than the first page..?

P.P.S. Just ordered an XCope ARF and an OSD module from XAircraft America, hopefully the Canadian Border Services will be kind to me... :tennis:

Anyone..? Anyone..? Beuller..?

Well, perhaps I'll try and do a rundown on the T10JH when I get my quad setup and get comfortable with the software as it seems it's a fringe radio or not widely used anyway, maybe it's just a stupid question? Just ordered my new Tx/Rx today.

Welcome to SuperX. Sorry I don't have experience with Futaba. I'm running a Taranis. I'm guessing your TX is 10 channels. I used up 10 channels pretty quick (LED's, shutter release, pitch controlled gimbal etc).
