XAircraft xAircraft, Video, and FPV

Does anyone have any ideas on where or how to mount both a gopro on a gimble and a seperate camera for FPV on the xAircraft. I can't figure out where I would put the small FPV camera. I was told not to put it on the gimble as the vertical and roll of the gimble will not give a true feeling of what the quad is doing.

the GoPro makes a great FPV camera. it can do analog video out while also filming video. the only problem you might have is when you try to use the GoPro for FPV and taking stills as the camera blanks out ias it takes each still photo.
have you considered this as an option?

Hi Bart....

I have thought about it. I just heard a couple of things that I don't know if it would affect the performance. I heard that there might be a little lag time in processing the FPV video out and then the possible problem of running it on the gimble. What do you think as it would make it alot easier to have just one camera. I would only be shooting Video and this is just for fun no pro stuff.

Rich you might also talk with Juz about the FPV stuff he is a real expert on the topic. Are you trying to mount your FPV camera on a different place then the camera gimble so you don't get movement on the FPV camera?

Yes that was the idea as I had heard that you get a more true to life feel for what the quad is doing without the movement.

I think it was Ross (McGrafs) pointed out a good camera, DX201 from range video. It does'nt suffer exposure problems, worth checking out, I intend to get one.
You could hang it off a XA load mount. That load mount system is pretty handy for ancilliaries. you could mount the load hanger upside down on the load rails, ie sticking up at the front of the machine and mount the fpv cam on it like that, I think, in my limited experience of FPV that it feels more natural to have your point of view higher on the craft.
I am of the same opinion as you, I would rather my FPV cam fixed.
