Where to buy 4s Lipos in New Zealand?

nobrainer

Hello guys,

We have a production ahead in New Zealand and we just got to know that it'd be too expensive to get our 10000mah lipos there so I was wondering if there's someone in the forum who knows where to buy good price lipos in NZ? Need to stay inside 5000-6600mah range so that we can take the batteries back to Finland in hand luggage. Thanks!

In Auckland you could try Speedi Models in Glenfield ph 4409898 or also Hobby City who will have a bigger range Ph 570 1495

Another place is in Hamilton,http://www.hobbyhangar.co.nz/ Ph: +647 847 9835 but I suspect you will have a better chance for large 4S packs from Stacky's recommendations.

Any indication of what production? ;)

Need a pilot... :D

Thanks guys for the tips! We're looking for 5000mah 4s hi discharge lipos. One option would be to get these batteries from Hobbyking: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9963__ZIPPY_Flightmax_5000mAh_4S1P_40C.html

The price seems almost too good to be true, so are these any good? Will be using two of them in parallel. I think we could get these to ship fast to NZ from the Australia warehouse.

Other option I found are these batteries but how would they compare with the cheap Zippys?

And for Efliernz: we are producing a commercial for a Japanese snowboard company called Kissmark. Will fly the fs700 in Wanaka area.

I have used the Zippy 25C on my Trex's for several years and they have outlasted (by a huge margin) the Nanotechs.

As Stacky has said - If you need help (advise) on how things work down here, no worries.

My only warning is if you are flying gps guidance, some of the FC systems struggle with the southern hemisphere (they go the wrong way!).

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Pete,

Why have we had absolutely opposite experiences with Zippy lipo's? I'd guess my 30C Zippy packs made about 15C when the outside air temp was over 90. Nano-techs, on the other hand, seem to make rated power well into the discharge cycle.

?????? it doesn't make sense.

I agree. I bought 4 x 30C 4S4000 Nanos. 2 lost a cell in under 20 cycles. The other two at usable to 50% only after 40. Only flown in 10-26 deg condition and never exceeded 12C usage.

Oh well... I might have just got a bad batch...
