What's the connector found on a LiPo's balance lead called?

You made me work for it, didn't ya? :friendly_wink: For the benefit of anyone else wondering the same and also wondering how to replace their balance plug, I give you this:

http://hansenhobbies.com/products/connectors/tools/crimp_dx/

Which in turn led me to this: http://hansenhobbies.com/products/connectors/250mm_X57/250mm_X57_1x4/

So I was almost correct, it's called a JST-XH. Took me about an hour of parsing the thread provided by fltundra, and picked up tons of other interesting info as well (not to mention that site, Hansen Hobbies).

The reason for my post in the first place was that I can see the balance plug on one of my batteries getting "weak", and I was thinking I may replace it. However, now I'm thinking of fabricating some sort of "extension" using the aforementioned connectors, a crimping tool, and 22-24 AWG servo wire. At least, I think that's what I want to do.

I hate those connectors - I always feel like I'm going to damage it when I pull it out - they're really not well suited for a connection with numerous make/break cycles.

Geez louise Pete, I have a pack of those covers in my cardboard box of "RC odds and ends" and completely forgot about them until your post. Thanks!!

Is there something special about this Hyperion I (or we) should know about? I currently use Multistar and Flightmax Zippy. I just noticed that there are several distributors of Hyperion here in Spain, which for me would make getting batteries a whole lot easier (versus the 6-8 week wait I have to endure when ordering from HK and then Spanish Customs).

I see they are slightly annoying in that they do NOT use a standard JST-XH balance plug (is there even a "standard" WRT this?).
