What is Frsky?

I just bought a quad and I keep seeing this information on Frsky. I have a dx7 and a a r7010, what would the advantages of having a frsky be? Is it needed, the tbs discovery info page on setting up the quad with a dx7 says dx7 with frsky, just trying to understand what this mod is.

I have a JR 9303 and I bought a frsky 2.4 Ghz module from HK to bring my JR to 2.4 Ghz instead of the old 72 Mhz. It works great w/ the frsky module, has a failsafe, and you can get the 2 way module w/ telemetry w/c tells your battery voltage etc. It has a very fast reboot times, I could turn off my quad in mid-air let it drop for a sec and turn it on, instant on the Naza stops the quad drop.
