Are you sure you want that? Quick calculation says the washers will weigh approx. 33g each - so 66g before you even add any solder. Also, 2.5x8mm copper will easily handle 500A. Lastly, but I'm no expert on this, having loops is bad (apparently - something to do with creating EMI) - you'll want to cut a section out of each washer (so you have two "C" shapes, not "O" shapes).

I'm sure you can buy copper plumbing pipe locally - cut a short section, cut down the length of it to open it out, beat it flat then use snips to tidy it up?

Thanks for the help guys. I got tired of waiting the Herkules III for my SJ 8 so I got me some Phoenix Ice 50 amps. Since 8 orbit 15-20 can draw as much as 400 amps I wanna make a solid power distribution harness.
I have a couple of Afroboards, a couple of Voltaire boards but the boards heat up when pulling more than 100 -150 amps. Before the Herkules I had a spider harness out of 8 AWG but it messed up my GPS signal.
In the summer here it gets up to 40 degrees celcius, also I might have a gig comming up in Egypt soon, so I don't wanna risk it.

@gunter I would try with NASA. Maybe they have some spaceshuttle parts left over. (had to make a joke)

Why dont u use 2 bars instead of rings. easyer and no magnetic field cause elektricity will not run in circle. Just a taught.

Latest firmware 4.01 performs even better than simonk.

Unfortunately this website wants 78 uk pound shipping for a few sheet.

Guess I ll have to pay up. Its hard living in a small island ;-)

Even better? This got me interested. What in this new firmware you find that performs better than simonk?

PS: I have been in Cyprus (I'm from Brazil) 5 years ago, a really nice and beautifull place.

Thanks

Dang you guys. I thought I had an original idea with using a washer. :( I have used a large brass washer, steel washer, and copper rings made from soild copper wire, soldering 10 AWG wire to them.

So far I haven't seen any issues with EMI or such.

:) After all i couldn't find a company that can ship a large washer to Cyprus without 40 pounds shipping so I used 8awg cable instead. No EMI isssues either.
