Using Naza as gimbal control only

any one out there every use the Naza for dedicated gimbal control? (No multirotor control)
if so, any tips / tricks to accomplish this?

From experience and what I have read it isn't the greatest gimbal controller. It doesn't seem to play well with some servos, even some high expensive digital ones. Works ok on some and horrible with others.

You can get better results using a cheap Multiwii board for a stand alone gimbal control.

I've found the notchy/jumpiness is servo specific. On my GoPro gimbal with EMAX servos it is pretty good and smooth. On the Gaui Crane III gimbal with $100+ servos it is a notchy mess.

wow! ok so that idea got squashed...
I am looking for a dedicated gimbal controller. I am using a WKM as my FC, but dont really want to use that. I am looking to have the gimbal dedicated to separate controller.
Any thoughts on this?

Cheapest would be a Multiwii board. More expensive would be something like the hoverfly dedicated gimbal controller.

Here is my Gaui Crane III test with dedicated multiwii for gimbal only.
