UK fire extinguisher class

Hi all,
Can anyone advise the correct type of fire extinguisher that should be used for lipo fires. This is to carry with me when I'm out flying. I've read a few different posts but some say dry powder and others a class D???
Thanks.

It would probably be classified as a class D fire. I would stay away from dry chemical, If you extinguish a fire with one the multirotor would be a total loss IMO. Dry chem is very bad for anything electronic or electrical in nature, it gets into everything and can be corrosive over time. Keeping the fire from spreading might be your best hope in which case dry chem would be acceptable.

Lips batteries are classed as a metal fire and can only be surpressed and not extinguished as such. Yes I recall its a class D but the extinguishers are very very expensive black powder and you would need a large one for it to be effective. I carry a std dry powder one which is not ideal but better than nothing and its purpose is to prevent any potential fire spreading.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a look and see what I can get. I need to carry one with me every time I fly.
