Sounds like a plan, must be some sort of glove/clothing suitable to use for ppe purposes.

All the safety equipment and clothing in the world will not protect someone from a defective thought process and lack of reasoning. Instead of focusing on protective gear what's wrong with using the landing gear to put the thing down on the ground a safe distance away from oneself instead of trying to catch it? If someone will unthinkingly put themselves at that much risk just how much consideration do you think he'll give to those around him?
