Thinking about remote ND filter control Z15/GH4

I'm thinking about building a remote control system for the Vari-ND filters I use on the Z15 / GH4.

Before I go ahead with it, has anybody already done it?

I'm been thinking about one. Thinking a some sort of motor with a rubberized servo wheel to catch the outside filter.
Not sure it would work, but not to expensive to test. If the outside filter turns freely with some pressure from the rubberized servo wheel, then figure out a way to mount the motor to the lens. Getting a servo wire to the motor may be a little messy, but it might work.
