Taranis telemetry question

I'm using the frsky FAS100 current/ampere sensor (older unit) on my quad. It's connected to the vario and lipo sensor to get into the newer x8R (the vario acts as a translator from older sensor style to the newer smart port). The documentation is basically geared toward single ESC/motor style craft (fixed wing I guess). I asked aloft how to hook it up - and they said I could insert it between battery and PDB.

my my question is whether the amp draw would be reading total from all 4 ESCS or just one???

My last flight showed a draw of nearly 27amps, which I thought was high. But then I realized that this may be showing what all 4 ESCs are drawing.

Thanks for any clarification.

All 4... 27 seems kinda hi, I'm pulling about 16 to 17 at hover, and around 17.5 to 18 with my gimbal and strobes added. Motor level has a big effect on current draw.

So you're saying it would be the shown number divided by 4? That would make more sense to me. I really didn't think I was drawing so much power :)

Yes!:), plus your accessories that are also connected. As in video trans or gimbal.

Yes that is the overall reading! 21-30 is about right depending on your craft...specs? Also this shows that you are only pulling 6.75 amps per motor at the high side... why does everyone go out there and get 30 amps esc... :p

I think they get 30a ESCs because they're cheap, plays it safe and can probably be used on more MRs combos if you want to swap motors, craft etc. why go low and risk it?

theres no disadvantage to a larger unit.
