SW-S800, would you?

Ok so Im thinking Im going to get into an S800 with DJI electronics and a Z15, the package that sells for near $6k. I have a larger budget but do I need to give it away if this platform will do it? I envision working with a two man set up but would like the flexibility to work solo for still photography also, so waypoint flying for property boundary flight is possibly needed. My research leads me to think a NEX7 is ideal for stills but for good video in a DSLR a Canon 5- is better, however an S 800 is not set up for a D5 or more accurately the Z15 is not. Any thoughts on the S800. I saw a video of it lifting over 6 kilos so would more batteries equal longer flight times, or does it work that way? Thanks in Advance and thanks for all the information you lads have shared for all to absorb - Dubliner in Texas.

Remember that the 6k is only for the kopter and mount. Then u need another 3 or 4k for bateries, charger, video link, 2x transmiter (has to be good) and 2 recivers, ...
Nex 7 makes insane pictures with the Mpix it has. It all depends on what you need.

U Know I can't seem to think of a reason not to get that system. I absolutely love my flame wheel, and the Z 15 well that thing is just plain and simple the best gimbal out there bar none. And you don't need to spend 4000 more. All you need is a little fpv with goggles a grand at the most. Two receivers and 6 batteries. Don't go and blow your money on 20 battery packs, that's insane. Get a little Honda genie like normal folk... And get flying. Price for extra 1000 fpv + 200 receivers + 6 batteries 5000 mah 100
Bucks each= 600, and the genie well thats for your house to so 500 bucks. All added up and flying all day= 2300... Plus 6000 for your gimbal and airframe= 8300 out the door, and you shouldn't really count the genie as or camera your sole equipment I have had this things for years, there just a good investment.

O but your 6 kilo thing is insane that system won't be able to fly that, and when I say fly I don't mean hover for a minute thats a joke. So many ppl post all these crazy #s of weight for these systems, but hovering isn't flying... It's the process before flying and in witch case does not require skills of a pilot.

Your on the right track, but there's a lot interesting stuff, and a lot of crazy smart ppl in here to talk to so my advice ask around. But your on the right path, I don't think you could go wrong on that thing for what it is.

For 1 man system u need 14 channel transmiter, reciver. Try to find one cheap and let me know. For 2 man u need 2x8 channel. And you said fpv camera Another 100 eur more.

Let say that minimum u need :
6s 10000 battery is from : 150-250 eur like 3 of them
charger with 20 - 30 amps charging otherwise u would charge all day.
power suply for charger
2x wideo transmiter
FPV cam
1x video station (reciver, lcd, antenas, tripod or case.. maybe googles for fpv)
2x futaba, graupner transmiter
2x reciver
This is close to 4k , not 2k. Well with cheaper bateries and lcd and gogles, transmiters maybe 2k would do it.
Othervise it is a good kopter.

BTW telemetry is a good thing to have.

This video might help to imagine what is possible with the S800 in terms of payload. I would NOT take off with more that 7kg AUW (better 6kg).

I have a "one man show" on the Z15, and this is also possible with a 8-9ch TX/RX,
I have

Roll
Pitch
Throttle
Yaw
Flightmode (incl failsave)

for the copter and

Pan
TIlt
shutter (combined with a video switch between Sony Nex on the Z15 and a Horizon HD as FPV cam always pointing foreward)
Z15-mode

on the Zenmuse

Here you can see how this works:

Ferdinand, I'm reading on an iPad and they occasionally display/fail to display sometimes, but I can't see the link. It sounds like your doing what id like to do so I'm very interested in your set up. I'm not looking to deliver supplies in the winter, a Gopro and an NEX is all. Don't worry :)
