While I was waitin' for batteries to charge I took a stroll on the 'Net. Wasn't watchin' where I was goin', and I tripped over a crack in the side walk smack at your front door, so I figured I'd knock and say Hi.
Name's Cliff, but my friends call me Chief. Retired from the Navy back in '92. Learned to fly nitro helis in '90 right before Desert Storm.
Took a break for a while (Life is pretty good at gettin' on your 6...) and I finally got back into the hobby Christmas before last. Started with a TRex 450 clone and a cheap radio. That grew into two 450's, both FBl, one with a penta head and dressed up like a black ops Hughes 500, and a Fly Sky TH9x.
Santa musta been real tanked this year, 'cause he dropped an X525 kit down the chimney. First thing I did was ditch the KK V5.5 (I hate tweakin' pots...) and threw in a KK 2.1.5 and then flashed that with Steveis 1.19S Pro.
Got her flyin' good and then gave her some new landing gear, a gimbal, and a camera. AUW is 1575 grams and with a 3000mAH 3S LiPo I can shoot 9 min, 30 sec of mindless video before the battery alarm starts hollerin'. I ain't no Cecil B. Demille, but I'm havin' a ball.
Needless to say, I got bit pretty bad, and in the next day or twelve (I hate snow more than I have pots...) I should be gettin' an APM 2.6 with a GPS and telemetry radios, and then the fun really starts....
And don't tell my ball and chain, but I have my eye on a hex...
