Starting to build a milticopter

Hello every one,

i am a student of Mechatronics engineering, i am going to build a multicopter, will u please tell me abt some basic things.
1. which batteries to use
2. which transmitter and receiver to use to achieve range upto 500m(of how many channels)
3. how many rotors to use(which one is most stable design)
4. what to use for video transmission.

hoping to get good response:apathy::apathy::apathy::apathy::apathy::apathy::apathy:

I'll start you in the right direction. I'm a Noob and just finished my first design, build, and flight. There are many variables that you are asking about. The way I started was by deciding on a frame and prop size. Then I looked at the proper motor for the prop size. Once you have The motor size you can pick out ESC's and battery. Everything is interdependent so a change in one thing will cause other things to change.
Most 2.4 Ghz radios should have a 500m range. A Multicopter can fly with a minimum of 4 channels with a maximum of ???? depending on the number of gadgets you'd like!
To get a better response, Add a little more detail like how large you want to go, and what you'd like to do with the multirotor.

the maximum weight will be around 5-5.5 kg. i want to fit a night vision camera under neath and a clamp for pick and place purpose.

Wow, that's a lot of weight, with a night vision camera! Sounds like some covert activity is going to happen!! Delivering flowers to a special lady no doubt! A big bouquet too!
