Single Waypoint and Ground Station

A slightly half-cocked question, as i've just received my single waypoint kit - not been able to install the software, but have had a look at the pdf.

Can anyone clarify how the on screen mapping works when you're 'in the field' without a wifi connection to the laptop?

Will i need one of those pay-as-you-go 3G dongles?

installed the app now - launches ok and seems to be connected to the internet, but google map bit not working.

i'm getting a loading icon for a bit then an error.

I'm about to take this step also. Anyone know what the laptop requirements are for the needed software? I just picked up a small netbook to use solely for the copter. Do you think that will run everything ok? It's got a 1.6ghz processor and 1gig of ram that i'm upping to 3 this weekend.

I received mine today as well :tennis:

Not had much of a chance to have a proper look yet

One question though, I have sent my hardware ID to my dealer, should I receive a new serial No ?
or do DJI just activate mine to work with the new features.

@kilby, I'm a mac man, but bit the bullet with a cheepo Asus eepc for multi opted duties, been fine so far and much to my dismay, a lot quicker than parallels on my MacBook pro.

Pligboot, I was in the same boat. I have to use Mac's for my job, but the MBP I was using for the copter was getting a good bit of age on it and the battery isn't holding a charge anymore. It has to be plugged in all the time, so it's really not a mobile computer any longer.

Glad to hear that it's working out ok for you. I hope I have the same luck.

How long do you usually have to wait for your new serial No ?

Sent my ID to the dealer on Thursday afternoon, and later received a copy of the request sent to DJI,
now Saturday AM, nothing received as yet.

HI Dave it is usually within a matter of hours but it as to come from DJI and there is a time difference and it is also Chinese Holidays again ...
We received your hardware id and serial at 15.22pm 21st June and China are 8 hours infront of us so they were not online at that time and now they have a few days holiday see below.

Jun. 23.
(Jun. 22 - 24. off)

So I was told by the folks at Fox Tech that DJI has in fact changed the pricing of the 2.4 data link. Has anyone in the US seen the price change?

Say, can somebody give me succinct instructions of how I PRE-LOAD data from Google Earth so I can use the Ground Station in a location without internet access? THANKS!

Does the new serial come direct from DJI ?
if so it's now the 26th and nothing received as yet.
