I noticed this morning during my pre-flight checks that one of my motor housings is significantly loose. I mean it has a lot of up/down travel to it.
Now I say ALOT, its really what, .5 - 1 mm of movement but considering my other 5 are really stiff and have no vertical movement, I'm wondering If I need to be concerned about losing a prop in flight. That would NOT be a good moment!!!
The grub screws that seem to hold it to the motor shaft cant get any snugger.
How do you take the housing off? I want to double check that those screws are in line with a slot or something on the motor shaft.
While I'm thinking about it, how do you guys maintain your motors?
What kind of flight times before maintenance? Lubricate bearings? Lubricate with what?, etc...
