S800 falling out the sky

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know, if you run two 6 lipo's and one fails or courses a short there is nothing you can do to save your mr. It broke every arm landing gear and battery tray. If any of you out there have any parts drop me a pm please.

Thanks Nigel

Wow! Just for learning purposes, how old were your batteries? And what brand and size were they? I'm not implying any brand would be at fault, but for my own learning experience, I'd like to know how long can I run a battery before I drop it for a new one to prevent this from happening.

Bummer man, that really sucks. Are you sure it was the lipo and not the known issue of altitude drops induced by vibrations? I have an extra s800 that I am parting out and am happy to help you get back up in the air. I PM'd you already.

Hi,

It's defo the battery because when I put my checker on it just goes blank. They were turnigy and it was the 2nd flight.

Interesting that one battery in parallel would stop the other one unless one of the wires caused a direct short. That would have caused a fire!!!

I run my batteries in parallel. Is the only way that I'll get decent flight time with my heavy craft. Do or did you use one connection to connect both batteries? I run two separate power cables to a power distribution board. Sometimes the connection of the power cable of the battery is not good. I'm not sure if its from constant bending manipulating, or just simply a bad connection from the factory.

Flying Rookie from YouTube said it best: "Two things will happen when you have a short. You will crash, you will burn".
