Responding to PM's

Bartman

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
In the body of the PM notification emails it says in capital letters,

"DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL"

The PM notification email is just that, notification that you've received a private message sent from someone via the website. To respond you have to first go to your PM inbox (upper right corner of every screen), open the message, and then reply from within the message/inbox. If you reply to the notification email it comes back to me and I get to see the contents of your "private" message. I don't like when this happens but it can be quite eye-opening to see what some of you are talking about.

Most recently we've got a forums member sending out multiple PM's asking for advice on how to design his electrical distribution network. He's got two posts total at the site but is sending out detailed requests for advice and assistance. A lot of what he's asking could be found if he just read through the old posts or asked a few questions of the general membership.

I also found out about a member who was sending PM's to tell people he couldn't answer their questions here at multirotorforums.com but would be happy to do so if they followed him off to another forums site that a manufacturer had set up to support his frames, mounts and camera stabilizer products. These are a few examples of things I get to see because people respond to an email that clearly says don't respond to it, I can't imagine what else is happening that I'm not privy to!

Thanks for reading! Anyone notice how much less spam there is here lately? Spammers bad.

Bart

I was out on a 40 mile strength building cycling training session in 5" of snow yesterday. I was riding with a guy who can kick my butt, so I'm in pain and just pushing through. I hear my phone start going off and beeping. I ignore it as I'm concentrating on the pain in my legs and keeping up with my buddy. Finally get done and get into the car to find 15 voice messages and 22 texts about a "thread blowing up on FG".

Ahhhh yea, sometimes you just have to love dealing with the interwebz..... sucked up 3 hours of my Sunday!

I was forced by my son to watch that movie at least 12 times when it was up......still having nightmares :tennis:

You were "FORCED" to watch it? You mean, you don't like Top Gun? Man, that's one of the all time movies out there. Not my favorite, which you've never heard of, but also stars Tom Cruise called, "Legend". I bet there are some FELLOW nerds on here right now that'll go look it up and thank me later. Just keep in mind it was made in the 80's and Tom Cruise is like 19. I believe it was his first movie ever but not sure on that one. And I'll leave you with only this...enjoy :) :) :)
