Recording FPV

Okee dookee, ordered one of those too! Ha!

I ordered one of those and it didn't work. Did the return dance with HK, and they sent a replacement. Same issue. Won't record any video. I see that files have been created, but no video showed up at all.

I am guessing that is a 5.0 since you have the hood pins in it. I have not seen too many 4cyl's with those. Looks like perhaps a 91, to a 93 hatch back. I have had 4 Mustangs myself :).

As far as FPV stuff goes it is something I have just started to look in to. I want to try to set up an FPV system on my F450 now that I have flying it more or less down. There are lots of FPV videos out on youtube that talk about the different frequencies and such. I was hoping to find a whole system vs. having to put it together a part at a time.

If you still have it, i'd look at the polarity, might be backwards since it's chinese. continuity check the power ground to the signal ground and confirm that parts right. you might open it up and see a problem with the plug..... there little penny parts all put on a piece of fiberglass so there not all perfect, pick and place, hk's qc= thumbs down

I think I recall checking the polarity when I first got it so I could wire it up to the battery correctly. I'll check the power to signal ground. Don't think I checked that.

There isn't much I get from HK anymore - but this deal was too tempting. In hindsight, maybe should have skipped it too.

OK, got the cheapo DVR working sorta OK. Fed it off my Immersion duo receiver, so I guess the extra punch helped. Still cuts out once in awhile, but starts another video when signal comes back. I'm still learning. And for my Mustang, it's an 88, with a hopped up 306 V8, all the goodies, 5 speed manual. Gutted interior, 1 bucket seat, but is licensed, and has everything needed to be street legal. A real hoot!

the recording not recording is one of two things, the way it is recording is by motion, and that sensitivity might be too low, the main thing that even i get from time to time is interference and it will write a new file..... try turning the sensitivity setting to high and try making your feed as solid as possible.... if it is consistently restarting, try another channel on the vtx..... might just have enough outside influence in your area to make that happen.....

Thanks Kloner. I have it set on "continuous record" no motion sense. With all the trees, etc. I get a lot of breakup, especially when I fly around to the front of my mobile home. I know this 5.8 isn't supposed to go through things, but I'm also trying a Black Mamba TX, it shows an output of 1.2 watts on my Immersion power meter. One of these days, I'll venture out into an open area, and really have some fun.

I changed the recording trigger to start when it's on too. Maybe I should try the other option and see if the high sensitivity motion makes it work.

Kloner, you know a whole lot more about this stuff, than I'll ever, but was wondering. This "stoppage" of recording when the signal breaks up, is the same phenomenon that causes some cheap monitors to go blue screen? If so, they fixed that on my Black Pearl monitor, so I guess perhaps it's possible on more expensive recorders? Just wondering, or wandering.............:dejection:
