Realtime position on a map

I currently run a DJI Naza-M V2 on my hexa (i also have a SuperX available) for aerial photography/video. I have also installed a GPS tracker which I can call in order to receive a SMS with position.

I would like to display the copters position on a map in realtime on a iPhone, iPad or a PC/mac.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to do this?

You can buy Eagletree's OSDPro / eLogger system with their EagleEyes system. See below

I can currently (without the Eagle-eyes system) with the Eagleree eLogger / OSDPro view my flight in 3D overlaid to Google-earth after I land. But Eagle-eyes will give you real-time flight data over-laid on Google Earth in realtime.

You'll also need a downlink transmitter. I use the fatshark 5.8Ghz 250mW transmitter for this.

Time to spend some money......

I always wondered this... does the laptop/ipad need a 3G or WIFI connection for google maps, or does the ground station kit (from DJI for example) provide the data needed to make the map 'live'?

I know i can't even open Google Map with no connection on my ipad, it keeps popping a warning and nothing loads...

If you open the GS on an ipad while you have wifi and set your map area it will hold it, otherwise you can it tether to a phone that has internet connection.

If I recall correctly, when using the Notebook PC it seems to me that you can plan ahead by simply visiting the intended flying spot from your office/home network. Once you get to the flying site, that area of Google Earth will be pulled up from PC memory and loaded to the background.
I am not familiar yet with the other options using IPAD etc. but tethering IPAD to your IPhone via hotspot should resolve an remaining issues when at the site.

I activate hotspot from IPHone for my IPAD when using AirPlan for logging my flights c/w site location.
