RC Ground vehicle to test FPV gear

Crash

Defies Psychics
I'm looking for an RC truck to test my FPV gear and antennas. (Yes... that is the excuse I'm using.) ;)

I'd like to get something in the $200 or $300 range. I'm leaning towards a large crawler so it won't get stuck as easily and maybe even be able to carry a light quad on it's back.

Any opinions on this unit:

The rockslide has brushed motors which I don't particularly like. Any other good options?

You could send the gear to me and I'll install it on my Picco .26 powered TMaxx and see if it survives... ;)

Personally I'd go with something from a bit more mainstream brand that you can easily get parts for like Tamiya, Traxxas, Venom, etc.

Hey it's a good excuse, I like it! I don't have much experience with hobby grade RC trucks other than the Traxxas Stampede VXL. Believe it or not way back before it was released I had the Aurora 9 radio on backorder from TowerHobbies. They kept on delaying and delaying the release so after a month or so of delays after the supposed shipping date I picked up a new DX7 for a great price and switched my backorder from the A9 to the Traxxas Stampede VXL. The Stampede was awesome(since sold it to a buddy). It was fast as hell, probably 65mph stock. It's not really like the crawler you listed at all but I don't see much point in the crawlers either...IMO. I wouldn't trust any RC vehicle with a Multi on it's back, they flip too easily no matter which kind you get. The Traxxas is also a bit more than you wanted to spend, $300+ but it runs off lipos, has tons of upgradable parts, and did I mention it's fast as hell!

I don't know really depends on what your looking to get and if you really are just testing!:p Basically I'm a RC truck novice with a good amount of experience on one particularly nice RC truck. I'd recommend it.

You mean testing like this? This was taken with a Pentax point and click that had video. I used to use it on my RC planes. I strapped it to the Stampede one day...can you say bored. Needless to say I needed a new camera after this. Careful it will make you sick watching it.
