Radio system for F550

Hi guys,

I'm very new the this whole multirotor thing.
Decided on getting a DJI F550 with Naza & GPS.
What radio system should i be looking at? Would like to eventually set it up with two Go pro's.

I know from my RC cars that there is a variety of radio systems from cheap to very expensive.
Can you point me in the direction of the most basic tx/rx i can use & also a middle of the range(commonly used). maybe some pro/con of each.

Cheers

look at the futaba 8j for bottom of the line, tfg8 for the top of the line, but the future is the 8j technology. the airplane one has a ratchet throttle that makes it nice for fpv cause you can find center stick easy, but i've noticed it is harder to make a slow upward movement like a video might use. the smoother non ratcheted stick was easier to control how fast it went up or down precisely

I owned JR radios since 1993, changed over earlier this year and i'll never go back to spektrum/jr radios

Kloner,
I'm planning on buying a new radio in the next few days as well. I fly DX8, and have had JR's for my helis...which have been great. I have several MR's now, among which is a new S800 + WKM + Zenmuse. I was considering the 8FG or DX18 so that I can have a radio for my Zenmuse, and fly from both one radio if I choose to do so. I'm torn, and it seems that most people who fly MR's prefer the Futaba. What are the features of the Futabas that have prompted you to leave JR/Spektrum behind?

the reliability of the link is tops, but the mr flight controller systems are made for it. for dji products, it's a single wire sbus to get all the channels you can in the controller. for me in particular the jr didn't like the long range systems fpv guys use. the jr tried to kill me one day and that was enough.....

this was it for me

alot of guys have good luck with them. Overall there dirty frequency wise, was harder to get good sat locks, video transmission wasn't as good. my jr went 2200 feet, futaba went a mile just as they come out of the box

I can relate to that. For my helicopters JR has been great, but for flying my MR's FPV the radio range has been really disappointing. I have quickly become an FPV addict... I love it. I have heard that Futaba's range is generally better, I don't know how much better though. I am planning on buying some sort of UHF adapter for range, not sure which yet.
