Quad to Hex to Heavy-lifter...

Hello fellow flying people.

I'm Jay, from Petersfield in Hampshire, UK.

First I had an F450. Then I made it a F550, and then when that still wouldn't lift enough, I upgraded that with better motors, props and arm extensions.

So for 6 months I've been on the normal mission to get rock solid aerial footage out of what is now a heavy-lift hex based on an extended F550 frame, Naza-M, T-Motor 2814-10s, XAircraft Gimbal, GoPro etc. Nearly there :)

Hopelessly addicted to the flyings. Tend to go out regardless of wind conditions. Am lucky - work most weekends - all week free for flying.

I write aerocam.org.uk, a blog about how I'm doing with flying stuff where I document in tedious detail pretty much everything that happens - the fails as much as the wins.

Occasionally, I knock out a half-decent video... and that's my plan - do more of those except better. Develop a stable rig I trust and then drive it all round the country documenting the epic countryside. And when I've done the UK, then work out how to go European and then worldwide with it.

When I'm not flying, I'm out musicianing for cash at horrible weddings (see musical prostitution), or in, designing, musicianing (mainly writing filmic stuff with pianos and strings) and doing 3D stuff on computers. Mostly flying though.

Anyway, that's me - happy flyings, people...

J
