Hey folks. Awaiting delivery of some Hobby Wing Platinum Pro 30A ESCs for use with sunnysky V3508-20 motors (my first experience with pancake motors). I've been looking to brush up on PWM and timing advance settings so that I can get the ESCs setup for these motors.
I cane across this formula for setting up PWM: KVxVxPoles/20=PWM
can anyone confirm that this is correct? Based on this formula the setting for this rig would be 8K instead of 12K.
Also, does anyone know the formula for determining the best advance setting, or at least a good place to start? I understand the concepts involved with higher setting running hotter/less efficiently etc. but it seems that there should be a formula so that you get the best match for a specific motor (in my case high pole-count motor).
