Problem with ecalc.

Trying to do some calculations but I notice the battery types is very limited. They have no big battery's like a 16000, 21000 or 30000 for example. Is there a workaround for this? Is there maybe a paid version that has more options? Also I'm always confused on the weight. When I enter the total weight it looks like they are adding motor weight, battery weight etc.

Just do a custom battery and remember that the eCalc weight is per cell, so make sure you calculate that from the battery manufacturer's specs.

Also, are you really planning on running batteries that big? Consider that running 2 x 10Ah batteries is only marginally heavier that 1 x 20Ah, but having two in parallel gives you some very nice redundancy which is always a good thing in the air.

I haven't decided on a battery, kinda the reason I want to run the figures. There is no allowance for a custom battery but I'm using the free version. Is it on the paid version? Thanks so much.

I actually can't remember what's in the free version. Go ahead and pay - it's really cheap, there are a ton more options to choose from, and it's good to support someone who makes such a useful tool.

I bought the paid version. $6 for a year. Lol.
I don't notice much difference but there is a "custom" battery selection. I'm getting the hang of it. I don't really understand the purpose / meaning of flight time, mixed flight time and hover time. Hover time is obvious.

Focus on the results for mixed flight time which is most relevant to real world experience.
Also there are situations where your selection of prop size etc. will show slight efficiency in mixed flight time while the hover flight time remains as before.

Actually if you look carefully you will find there are a lot more options for ESCs, motors etc. with the paid version - $6 is a very good deal for what you get.
