PLEASE PLEASE be very careful when messing around with modifying server PSUs. They can be very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. All it can take is a fault in the server PSU and the case can become lethal to touch (depending on how you have modified the PSU). The big thing to do is to read up on the process- there is plenty out there on modifying PSUs and it wont take much effort to get to the point where you know what to do and how to do it, just don't charge into this like a bull in a china shop, get that knowledge first.

With that said, for any high powered charging setup, the server PSUs are the sensible way ahead. It isn't difficult and it's considerably cheaper than buying purpose built supplies.

Hi Bartman, I hope you have your metal power suppliy cases earthed (both of them not just one), I know USA only has 110volts a/c but it can still kill you, I would never touch the casing if it were not earthed (grounded) or double insulated like kloner said to do, its not just a matter of moving on it could be life threatening if something goes wrong heed the warning. Just trying to be helpfull.
