Phantom 1 Flashing RED

HI,

I've got my phantom one out after a bit of a break and having an issue! It goes through it's normal start up procedure, locatin GPS etc, but then just flashes red and won't start motors.

I've plugged it in and done an IMU calibration, and done a calibration on my remote (its an early model so not by plugging it in).

Any help welcomed, thanks

Hello Alex and welcome to MultiRotorForums.com......are there any other LED colors mixed in with the red?

i think that that is a low voltage indication, do you have a battery tester to be sure it is fully charged? is the battery puffed at all?

it's possible the battery appears charged but that one of the cells in the pack has failed causing the total pack voltage to be too low to fly

Sorry!

can we interest you in a build of your own? you can do it, we believe in you! :)

you can use a multi-meter to check the battery voltage at the main power connector, if it's a three cell pack it should be at about 12.6 volts when fully charged (each cell is about 4.2 when fully charged).

have you done the compass dance also?? i believe my old phantom had some problem but i am going with bart here saying batteries first

Thanks for the input guys, but alas no, I've now tested the batteries and it's not them. As for compass calibration, it won't let me!! Once it's flashing red I can't get it into calibration mode!!

glad to hear the batteries are fine. did you have the FC apart at some point? pls. take a picture of where the GPS puck is plugged in or just double check it against the diagram in the NAZA user manual

The quad hasn't been apart at all! It's as simple as I had it flung several months back, it sat on the wardrobe unused for several months... Then the red light of death!!
I've plugged it into the laptop and done a few checks, motors turn etc.!
