Overlapping prop quad design?

Has anybody seen kits or builds of any overlapping prop, pusher pull projects that are similar to Malloy Aeronautics hoverbike design. I was wondering what the benefits of having a quad set up like that would be.

Overlapping reduces efficiency so other than the reduction in footprint I can see any advantage.

Thanks, I thought that was the case. What about the advantages of using a pusher, pull design that wouldnt overlap, any advantage there?

Would make no difference if the props were mounted above or below, below though you have less clearance for props unless you have a high set of legs.

One of my sons made a compact octo that had overlapping props worked okay and was smaller than a normal octo.
