Hoverfly OSD and YAW issues .802

Made a first FPV flight with HFP.

1. OSD doesn't work at all. I get picture from the camera but no info overlay.
We had the same issues with pixim seawolf chipset camera on another standalone osd. There is a problem related to different number of lines being sent by camera and received by osd. Or refresh rate... Do not remember.. I am not a socialist at this at all.

2. Anyway i flown my ship with AL being ON. At some point when i did a fast full stick 360 pan it became very unstable

3. It climbs up if i yaw left or right aggressively

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
for the fast pan you need to double check the alignment of your motors. i don't know if there are very many flight controllers that will tolerate a fast pan without some degree of drift and loss of stability. please take a video of what you're talking about so we can see how bad it is.

are you able to see the OSD info when the camera feed is turned off? you might be better off posting your OSD questions in the OSD/FPV forum where users are more familiar with your issues.

how long ago did you buy your HF boards?

1. i have a bunch of different controllers but yawing (AL being is ON) is the that bad in with HFP only. It took it around 3 seconds to become stable again and it was about 30 m hight

2. There is nothing to do with my camera or TX. I do not see OSD info at all. It is all about HFP firmware. 101% sure. I have the same Pixim seawolf camera and video TX on my 3 other fpv copters and work with different OSD no problem.

Camera http://www.securitycamera2000.com/p...AWOLF-HD-CCTV-Mini-Camera-2.8mm-Lens-OSD.html (own 3 of them)
TX http://www.foxtechfpv.com/58g-400mw-8ch-transmitter-p-544.html (own 3 as well)

OSD that works with camera and video TX:
1. http://smalltim.ru/production/osd-mini/features/
2. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...ng_G_OSD_II_Mini_OSD_System_w_GPS_Module.html

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
storm,
Can you post video to show the problems you're having with yaw control? it would be helpful.

what other controllers are you familiar with?

Yeah, I can blow that up.
Regarding OSD - double check that you have the signal going into the correct pins and out the correct pins. If you have it backwards the video signal will pass through without an overlay. Also try adjusting the contrast pot on the HFP board. This can be an issue. Try disconnecting your camera and just look for the osd. Some cameras are not 75ohm output and have caused issues.

I know that Pete (Efliernz) was trying to get his OSD working on the new firmware last week but couldnt get it going. I dont have mine connected at present but this weekend am going to Petes place to do some work on gimbals etc and will have a look at the OSD then. I think I saw someone else mention they couldnt get the OSD working on the new firmware.

I rechecked everything. OSD connection is correct for 101%
I do not see OSD info with or without camera connected to osd pins.

I was told that HF customers could talk to HF engineers. Where are they?:)

Storm, they are on these forums all the time. You will see Photronix on here and also George is on the HF forum on RCG. You can also via their help desk setup open a help ticket and you will get help that way. https://hoverflytech.zendesk.com/

They dont sit on these forums 24/7 but they do always check and try and help. Sometimes you get to communicate with them the same day, sometimes its a few days. They are allowed days off on weekends.

My advice to you is to go via the help desk https://hoverflytech.zendesk.com/ You will be talking directly to the guys who engineered and designed the board.

if you yaw and the craft rises or falls you have a yaw imbalance caused by your motor alignment or Kv difference between motors. You will have to correct this on your hardware. This is not a software problem. After I fly I feel the temperature of all of the motors. If CW is hotter than CCW (or the opposite) then you have a yaw imbalance.

OSD
the OSD works fine on 4.3.802. I was just using it 15 minutes ago. You must have the wires reversed or the polarity wrong. Also check your contrast. You can change it with the small pot on the HoverflyPRO. Check the manual.

Thanks! I will measure the temp tomorrow with laser thermometer. I had an issue with motor alignment on a smaller frame. It felt different... when I yaw it goes up like if I pushed the throttle stick.

Here comes another issue. HFP doesn't work with Cinestar gimbal (new servos).

I checked :
- Camera mount is ON in the setup utility.
- If i plug the gimbal into naza fc servos come to life straight away.
- I checked pins on HFP. I get 6v on power pins.
- Recheked all connections - everything is correct!

To sum up:

1. HFP is not compatible with maytech v2 ESCs. SOLVED, but I had to sell them and by another set.
2. OSD doesn't work at all
3. HFP is incompatible with latest Cinestar gimbal.
